And what if the girl wants the kid(or is easier for her to be with the kid) and not the son:rolleyes:
ANd you have to decide whether you see each issue from the perpective of the father or the girl.
And so US is offering APG 79 for the Tejas now for the MKII version??
However you try to spin it (and with the father and son stories nonetheless!), its not coming off!
This is critically going to affect the lrde aesa and the delay the development of the Tejas MKII and also the AMCA.
Not only that the 2052 was an independent option IAF had.It could have been fitted to other aircraft as well eg MKI as a part of upgrade(or the AMCA ).That window is closed.
well I guess next thing you will advocate is to ground all other aircraft and fly only the ones acquired from US as the mmrca.
Btw does anyone remember that Israel wanted to fit 2032 first and 2052 later on their F-16s but were refused by the US?
Still I am really curious about the engine 😀 Looking at lift off of the plane in the first flight I think J-20 and F-22 have similar lift-off 😎
Oh great and next what we will hear is it has got the same avionics as the F -22!:p
The possible commonality with the 2032 could be the back-end and software. As Kramer pointed out this would mean retendeirng and Americans could easily offer the SABR.
hahah funny logic.
IAF didnt say they want the SABR or that even it is better than the 2052.
Retrofitting the 2052 would be a much easier job and much more logical than fitting some other radar.
Fitting any other radar would cost much more $$ than changing from 2032 hardware to 2052.
Will the US pay for the retendering?
Who will bear responsibility for the delay caused by retendering and the development of the LCA MKII?
BTW…US hasnt offerend the SABR for the Tejas yet!
The US have alwyas said that screw your little indigenous fighter from the start.Even the blind can see it.
and also guess what the LRDE aesa uses components from Israel too.In all probability that will be hampered too and that is the main aim of the US , to stifle its development and not the 2052 per se.
It is not what you think it is I am afraid Kramer. America is offering advanced systems to India so it is not capability denying. Its basically Americans saying that a radar developed with their money Elta E/M 2052 should not compete with radars made by American companies in markets like India.
Are you crazy?2052 could have been retrofitted to the Tejas since it has a commonailty with 2032 components. What AESA radar is US offering to fit into the Tejas??
I sincerely hope that both the Super Hornet and the F-16 IN Super Viper are shown the door when the MoD announces the shortlisted contenders for the MRCA.
Amen to that!
The Indian Navy will raise its 2nd UAV squadron INAS 343 Squadron in Porbandar (famous as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi) next week. The squadron will operate Searcher Mk-II and Heron UAVs. A third squadron is expected to come up on the country’s eastern seaboard later this year at the INS Parundu air station in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu.
Apart from more Herons, the Indian Navy is currently scouting for HALE UAVs as well as shipborne unmanned rotorcraft.

I certainly cant see any indication of a bay either. It seems though it has enough space inside for the bays.
No need to get worked up.this is just a prototype.
Congratulations to the chinese..credit must be given where it is due.
Seems like it has borrowed a lot of aerodynamics from the J 10 – more like an LO version of the J 10.
Except from, the LO outer form I am sceptical about what else 5th gen tech the chinese can put in there.AESA radar , supercruise , sensor fusion? Not too sure about that.
And that thing appears huge and kindof boxy looking. Not that we will know about the aerodynamic parameters soon enough.
Anycase its a start and after underestimating the chinese for so long its something for the west to really take notice of..
Oh and may I add that the PAKFA is still the best looking :diablo:
Complete story:

Could this hamper US-India relations?
Also, was this radar really considered for the Tejas?
well well well…
The 2052 would have been a good option for the Tejas.
There was also some talk of an indian aesa under development ..not too sure about that or the details.
Interesting video posted here on the Tejas showing it going through trials

Excellent video there!
That would include include every weapon exporter in the world.
If we want to plan for another series of nuclear tests, we should be ready for sanctions, that is just how the world is.
And for all the USA sanction talk, with the whole Tejas Mk-I and II dependent on the US engines, we are in for a long relationship.
There seems to be political will towards developing close relations.
To say that we will be self reliable in defence just because we say so is immature, we need a lot of help in what is a very high technology sector.
The technologies we developed for Tejas indigenously have been a boost, and that was a primary reason for investing into the program (to develop the capability).
While theres a lot to benefit from the US and lets face it who doesnt want to keep good relations with them , but past history and some current strategic policies of the US dont add a very optimistic feel to it.Iran was the first and the sole export customer of the F 14.See now what has come of it.And such incidents are rather frequent in the history of US.Its a cliche but history tends to repeat itself.
Being self reliant is a long term goal not a short term one.
There is a difference between what we have to do in the short term because our hands are tied , and what we choose to do in the long term.
The old America is bad buying American is wrong attitude currently only exist among arm chair generals with slightly leftist leanings.
The IAF don’t have any problems with American gear, the ADA chose the GE F 414, Navy sent RFI to LM for F 35.
The writing is on the wall……..
I am not pro-anything, I just think in the current strategic climate there is no problem in buying American gear, because we are already doing their bidding in many cases so why not cash in with some good gear ?
…as opposed to other arm chair generals who consider themselves more american than americans themselves so that any criticism of the US however minor is bound to get their goat so to speak.lol.
while in this global economy some form of interdependence cannot be ruled out or even is beneficial bothways , dependence on crucial technologies should be minimised.
current strategic climate means nothing , strategic climate is as transient and unpredictable as the weather ..as they say ..a butterfly flaps its wings in beijing and the weather over new york changes.
there is some sort of writing on the wall alright , not sure that its the correct writing is all.
The real disappointment of the day is the attitude of the ACM of the IAF towards the Tejas. Show some support……
A few encouraging words would have been nice but to be honest , the Tejas has a lot to catch up to.
There has been a strategic shift in U.S policy towards India and I do not believe there is any peril going for U.S systems.
All that says is the problems Tejas team faced during U.S sancitons which is not new news.
Yeah and last month I just visited Narnia.Meanwhile here are a few snippets from the place we call world..nasty place it is…
“United States Delivers Additional F-16 Fighter Jets to Pakistan”
and
“US to Provide More Military Aid to Pakistan: Report”-JAN 10, 2011
And let us not open up a can called “wikileaks” cuz god knows what it contains maybe worms or something..!
Also the author must be a commie coming from North Kerala, so you can expect a certain level of anti american bias in his reporting.
And how prejudiced are you!!Stating the facts is not bias!!And you must be a rabid pro american because you are from…
…………………………………………………………….
btw..talking about women being escorted to the toilets…there was also some report nearabout the time this happened in some newspaper that one of the scientists after being forcibly ejected from the lab without being able to collect even any personal stuff , wanted to get his jacket back as it contained a picture of his newborn daughter , but was refused.
This is from tarmak blog. This needs to be read and understood by people who melt like butter :p at the mention of the US.More dependence on the US and a worse day will surely come..
