I’ve got the book. Hardback, how to build, plans etc and even a list of now defunct materials suppliers. No idea how to copy it though as its a book and pre-ISBN numbers!

Looks like the Javelin has been taken down from the plinth. Couldn’t see it driving past the other day. From the airfield, all closed up and nothing to be seen :-/

And I thought 42’s fighter intercepts were ‘T(u)RD’ evasions 😀

Guernsey’s Girl’s markings were standard, apart from the nose art, painted in nearly 50′ heat on the apron at Muscat where the paint dried as it left the brush! Will likewise try to find a fuller picture…

Yes indeed. A sad day. I didn’t know they had built a memorial. RIP chaps.

You would think the tailfin would catch on?? There is one piece of Nimrod over here at the Air Musuem in Downsview. They ahve the complete tailfin as a memorial.. very nice tribute I thought.

I take it that’s from the wreckage of the Toronto Airshow tragedy?

I vaguely remember there being a large model of Red Baron on a plinth on top of the Queens Building at LHR in the late 70s…. or am I dreaming? Can’t remember why it was there though!
