Pics of Indian strike FLOGGERs (in action) would be most appreciated.
I was talking about Kosova in general…not specifically for the miners…
Doesn’t sound like it:
Trepca mines were the most important resource in all of Yugoslavia…yet the people working there…were the poorest in all of Yugoslavia.
Anyway, its not like Southern Serbia, northern Macedonia and eastern Montenegro (the Yugoslav regions immediately adjacent to Kosovo) have been immensely wealthy throughout second half of the 20th century. Surely it is necessary, in order to demonstrate that Kosovo was at a disadvantage because of its non-Slav population, to show that regions near it were wealthy by comparison; this clearly is not the case. Vojvodina is full of ethnic Hungarians and yet it happens to be the richest region in Serbia (and this has been the case for some time) with the exception of Belgrade. In any case, it would be rather unfair to compare a large metropolis and state capital with a largely rural area that has some mineral resources* (not that Belgrade is ethnically homogenous by any stretch of the imagination).
* Oil in Vojvodina, Trepca in Kosovo (for e.g.).
Trepca punon, Beogradi nderton.
Kapedani, you do realise, don’t you, that this saying was not only for Trepca. In Split they have, “Splicani rade a Zagrebcani grade” and in Tuzla, “U Tuzli se radi, u Sarajevu gradi” – there are probably a lot more – maybe one version for every small town.
Trepca mines were the most important resource in all of Yugoslavia…yet the people working there…were the poorest in all of Yugoslavia. Something was off…
The mines, as productive as they once were, could never really be called Yugoslavia’s most important resource. Neither were the workers there the poorest, besides, miners are hardly going to be highest paid class… Although it is interesting to note how the Serbs who worked in Trepca were just as poor as the Albanians.
A nice dream.. May I join you?
BTW, toilet in Su-34 looks like a small corner isolated by a curtain, having something like this… No big deal..
I always wondered what would happen if a FULLBACK was forced to pull negative Gs on a long mission :diablo:
The US has probably killed more Iraqis in this current intervention than the Serbs killed Kosovo Albanians.
Way way way more actually.
Ok…say that the next time 90% of a region’s population is driven out of their homes.
Your figures are, as always, way off Kapedani. 90% of which region’s population was driven out of their homes? Eastern Slavonija? Krajina? Or are you refering to the fact that there is currently only a handful of Roma people left in Kosovo?
Slobo,
Serbian is so difficult that it’s impossible to learn to speak it perfectly unless you learn it natively.
That simply isn’t true. Many Albanians from Kosovo speak exceptionally well in Serbian and also many foreigners from western Europe are able to speak it so well that they are regularly mistaken for native Serbs (I know a few personally). Just because it is a small language and not many people learn it to a high degree does not mean to say that this is some impossible feat because the language is difficult to learn.
Thanks Djnik, and sferrin. Worked a treat and it was worth waiting for – what a cool video!
Why can’t I play it? Strange because I can play other .avi files – just not this one. Very annoying.
Will you be saying that when the Radical Party wins the elections next time?? because you know they will.
Bearing in mind that no other parliamentary party in Serbia will form any kind of coalition with them I doubt that their <30% of the vote will be enough to form a government.
Will you be saying that next time your current president makes statements like “we will go to war for Kosova”…not in 1999 but today in 2006??
You made that up.
This isn’t a trend among Serb kids on the internet…kids learn from their parents…and this precisely the problem that Serbia faces. Forget MiG-21s and MiG-29s…as I said earlier the onyl reasons they stick with that is beasue there’s only one country open to them…Russia…becasue everything else is blocked…not by “pride”…but by strong-headidness. Keeping war crminals isn’t pride…and its what is keeping and will keep Serbia back.
You clearly know nothing about Serbia – I suggest that Tirana dailies may not be your best source of information by the way… Actually, you may as well forget all sorts of information – you’re so prejudiced that you’ll twist anything into an anti-Serbian message.
Politics is the main key here to what Serbia can and can’t do…
Surely thats the case for every single civilised country.
Thanks very much!
Macedonia has bought the M-21 and is very pleased with it.
Has it? I missed that bit of news. When? How many? For which units?
I’m not the one saying such things. Your fellow countrymen here were using as reasoning for upgrading MiG-29s and getting such ficticious airplanes like SU-30 and PAK-FA…for reasons pertaining to war. I don’t know how else to interpret “to aggressivly take over someone else’s airspace”…other than for reasons pertaining to war.
Firstly, having fighters in your airforce so that they would (note conditional) perform well during a war is entirely different to having them so that they will be “starting wars”. Every airforce that has fighters has them so that, in the event of war, they will be available.
Secondly, even the comment about aggressively controlling enemy airspace was made in the context of a possible future war and not as an intention to use those fighters in order to initiate a conflict. In other words, if Serbia were to be faced with a war with one of its neighbours it would be desirable to have the capability to deny them control of their own air-space.
To my knowledge no Serbian member of this forum (except maybe theserbian, whose juvenile opinions we can safely disregard) has suggested that Serbia should initiate any wars in the near or distant future.
Ja,
While I have no problems with your disagreements with theserbian I do have to make a couple of clarifications relevant to your post:
I know Serbs, I know they are a prideful people, but what is more important, national pride and keeping Heros who are wanted for waht ever reason or starving to death due to restrictions in trade? If they are innocent then they should have nothing to fear right?
Currently the government is slowing cooperation with the Hague tribunal for the following reason: The Serbian Radical Party (and its followers) are still, unfortunately, a potent force in the country and within parliament and rapid handing over of those suspected of war crimes could cause instability in an already fragile democratic system. In my opinion they also want to demonstrate to the EU that they will not jump when told to if jumping has not been evaluated as the best course for the country.
It is sad that Serbia feels it has to make war on everyone around it!
out here in the real world, we will wait for Serbia to regain it’s sanity and reclaim it’s place in humanity.
The ramblings of (at best) a dumb kid or (at worst) an anti-Serb troller, represent neither the majority opinion in Serbia nor the policies of the government thereof.
I think TJ may have this one right… theserbian could easily be a wolf in sheep’s clothing, if you know what I mean 😉 .
are the ex-east german SAR hazes still in service in germany….
Christ! I totally forgot about those… Some pics would be mega appreciated.
