Some photos of my recent escape to Belgrade. Apologies in advance for the atrocious quality, I only had a pathetic excuse for a camera with me (i.e. one of those dirt cheap digital cameras).

Here’s one of the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade (it isn’t finished yet, hence the half done marble fascade, the scaffolding and the unfinished look of the roof).

I’d like to learn how to read women’s minds…

And Italian, Spanish, French, Russian, German, Arabic and Turkish – not necessarily in that order.

After that, I want to learn to be satisfied by the little things in life without wanting any of the stupid, pointless big stuff that most people (including me) want.

I don’t feel a need to dwell on this either. I wasn’t trying to start a discussion about the US Governments treatment of Native Americans – I was just hoping to ask some loaded questions to bring down the idea that just because of its constitution the US is the world’s nicest country.

I have lots of other (probably equally loaded) questions about US history but I won’t bore you with them, I’ll ask random Americans on the street in London. Just kidding.

    Phantom,

    “No one country is perfect”

Doesn’t that contradict the main point that article was making?
    😉

    Mixtec,

“It was never a policy to wipe out the indians.”

They really taught you that at school??? Holy cr@p!

Ever heard of John Quincy Adams? America’s 6th President and one of its “greatest diplomats” according to Ecyclopedia Britannica – also famous contributing significantly to the extermination of Native Americans with “such merciless and perfidious cruelty.” (his words, not mine).

Martin Luther King was most active in the ’50s and ’60s until his assasination in ’68.

Malcolm X was most active in the early ’60s until his assasination in ’65.

    Arthur,

Many thanks. What a shame that the concept died there and then – perhaps if it had more support and was allowed to develop properly it might have been a revolution in amphibian aviation.

Boo hoo, nobody is answering my questions (however loaded), I really was curious to know the answers…. Please guys, I can’t be bothered to install Encarta.

EDIT: Curse my inability to spell!

    Arthur,

Absolutely heatbreaking – I nearly wept.

Any idea why the project was abandoned…. not that I can think of many uses for such a jack-of-all-trades.

Bye the way, my ugly aircraft votes are:

Super Entendard (event hough I recognise its inherent classic aircraft value)
    HAL Kiran – yuck!
    The Shorts Skyvan
    and
    The OV-1D from Gurmman
