According to the FedEx website they are “donating its logistical services to transport two giant pandas from China to Scotland “, they wont do too bad out the publicity, everyone a winner IMO !!
The Tristar on it’s emergency landing is a nice catch. Was the second image from a missed approach or did it fly back out again after checks?
The tristar pics are of it leaving, seen it flying round the city for ages earlier on dumpin fuel, didnt have my camera handy though 😉
There’s a few more ( about 12 ) on http://www.egphotos.co.uk as well !
Cheers for the comment:D
Dont know what the Dash-8 was in for either going over the pond or coming from it I suppose!!
Ingliston car park along the 06 end
Probably a rugger charter, EI-ASI was my first “lump” at EDI as well !!
egphotos site isn’t working properly.
Some photo’s won’t load at all and some throw you into a 404 page not found error.
Link works ok from my PC, anyone else?
Also, if anyone is feeling nostalgic I’m uploading slowly but surely my collection of LHR pics from the late 70’s till early 80’s
http://heathrow.egphotos.co.uk/ no pop ups and no adverts!!
Nice set Robert.. did you not know it was due?, thought you would have been over Ingliston side for it.
BTW it brought in Chinese govt folk to get a looksee at Embra zoo, and they signed a deal in London today for 2 Panda bears to come to the zoo for a breeding program.
Scotty Got a heads-up it was coming, Almondbank is my favorite spot for pics, just got to be careful with the sun shining into your face, most folk were at Ingliston, also, got a new camcorder and almondbank is a good spot for using this on the tripod.
cheers
Robert
HA-MOG! Hopefully this will be allowed, but I thought it might be interesting to have a ‘then and now’ comparison as she now rests at the aviation museum at Budapest Ferihegy. Such a beautiful old aircraft, it must have been awesome to see them in service!
Nice to see photos still being added to this thread, it just gets better and better! 🙂

By all accounts the 2 flights from Japan were bringing tourists to Edinburgh to begin a european tour, the flights left empty, I dont know about the first flight but the 2nd was cleared to Athens, rumour has it that an unknown Japanese airline has been at EDI seeing about using their Dreamliners when they get them on similar annual flights, only a rumour mind you 😉
Probably a trooping flight, the majority of which are going to Nairobi, the troops get acclimatised there before going to a less welcoming country.
