I know I read a while ago they were both scrapped, I take the climate in Britain had a lot to do with it.
The scanner I’m using just now is an Epson 3590 photo, scanns of slides etc arent perfect but the quality isnt too bad for about 80 quid
The Pan Am Tristar is now a tanker with the RAF, the rest are probably lying on a scrappie as washing machines
Got some pics of Maersk piggies at Edinburgh, nice to see a 720 of theirs though!
Dont know how many, 35mm slides, negs and B+W negs as well as some prints, certainly over a thousand altogether !!
i only stayed in the apartment for less than a year, most movements at Dhahran were in the early hours, so it wasnt too good for sleep, also, you had to be a bit careful taking pics, I’ve got a load more to edit, takes a while cos the negatives are in really bad condition (cheap film)
Crossed wires there then!!! Red X was a term used in Aircraft Engineering records in Saudi, meant the aircraft had a “serious” defect
Red x ? that brings back memories for anyone who worked for BAE !!!
I seem to pick crappy weather days on day trips to AMS, I’m thankful for Burger King though for providing a nice hot meal in the terminal, not taking any chances this year and going in July and August, AMS is just soooo good though you can nearly forget the weather
No doubt wingletted Ryanairs will soon be common, its the first one I’ve photographed.
wonder if their new ones are delivered wingletted or not?
It’s great seeing the old ones, its amazing how many old pics have survived and are now being shared !!
Nice selection of trails
The first 3 are from about 1978, the Sabena is 1987
50,000 miles a year driving, over 300 today, all to do with work 🙁
Yeah I’ve got a lot more prints that need scanning, unfortunetly the quality means they wont make Jetphotos or Airliners.net, and also I aint got the negatives for most of them, might do some PIK ones next!!
