There’s at least one New Merlin buried under the Hanger Apron at Yeovilton. These are still wrapped and crated, buried when extensions done. I believe it’s under the Concord apron. Worth a few quid now, they’ll need running in perhaps.
Theirs is the Glory . . . .
OMG! I can’t believe some of what I just witnessed these guys doing on the public highway!
Methinks that tonight, I shall raise my glass to all the Rosies on both sides of the pond, whose enormous contribution to the war effort was so vital in achieving victory. They helped so much to give us the tools and we finished the job!
Cheers girls, God bless each and every one of you.

Simply beautiful . . . . . . .
Sorry, I’m not sure I see your point; there is a difference between an armistice and a capitulation but the point I was making was that Nazi Germany entered into an armistice with France when France had been all-but defeated. Why would Germany do that? What was in it for Germany? Why not just completely conquer France in 1940 (instead of taking-over later in 1942)?
Perhaps they didn’t need to – http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/francesurrendersc.htm
Well, we got Enigma, and they got Communism! Who got the best deal?
Resmoroh
Erm . . . .I think THEY had Enigma before us:rolleyes:
as I’ve already pointed out an armistice was offered to (the already defeated) France by Nazi Germany that led to the creation of Vichy France (and I didn’t even have to look that up)..
Perhaps you should look it up. Theres a world of difference between armistice and capitulation, see below:

Interesting. Could that be Barnes Wallis standing on the ‘bridge’ in photo 6?
There are some more in the LLA ‘Memorial Flight’ Spring magazine.
