Can anyone identify this “Tube” which again is a lost soul about to head to the museum
He is the latest lost soul about to be rescued by the Museum
It may now have a home in Cornwall. Will try and confirm tomorrow. If it does it’s thanks in large part to the Forum.;) 😉
Any news
It has just recently arrived at Aeroventure, Doncaster.
Sadly we are not in a position to take the aircraft at the moment, as have totally used up all our favours for haulage and cranes with what we have moved in the last 12 months and the ones to come in the next few months.
However if the position worsens we could at a push and the overdraft mount a rescue mission as we would still like a FAA aircraft for our HMS Macaw site.
So if you can keep us posted if things change
Try contacting Glynn at RAF Millom Museum at Haverigg.
They are members of, and post on, this forum regularly.
Yes we would gladly offer the wheels a home, a lot of P-38 wheels came out of burtonwood for use on trailers, many others were used but these seem to be the most common around the North West.

Not here either, I did submit a revised proposal, had transport sorted but heard nothing further.
there was a lot of old paint on the floor .
I hope they brushed up 😀 😀
As some of you are aware the Shorts 330 fuselage G-SSWA (wings and other parts were recovered) that were recovering from Blackpool late last summer had to be left behind to be collected at a later date.
However from what we understand a communication breakdown occurred and she was scrapped last autumn before we could get back to collect.
Fortunately on Wednesday “Retro Aviation” kindly donated a Shorts 360 G-SSWO to the museum (also at Blackpool), this has probably worked out for the best as this one is in much better condition than the 1st one we had.
Once again many thanks to “Retro Aviation” for their generous donation.
Now all we have to do is dismantle it and move it – simple really. 😀 😀
Would this help
