Who do we have to speak to
One can be found here
He must have been with a fighter unit as he was involved in a ground accident at Usworth while with No.55 OTU.
Below is an entry from the 55 OTU Operations Record Book.
March 23rd 1941, βTaxying accident to Master N7778 at Usworth 905025 Sgt McKenzie,
G.A. uninjured.βI don’t have a recorded entry for the 7th April, but there may have been one.
Wonder if he was still with No. 55 OTU as he was killed 2 weeks later, may explain why he is not in the Fighter Comand books, and with the proximity of Usworth to the sea, that is were he may of crashed.
Iand i couldnt believe it when i “Heard” the T-33s had been found Scrapped in a yard in cumbria, are they still there ?
another Korean Type bites the dust, π

I would not waste my time traveling 170 mile round trips to the Museum if it was going to fail, I have belief in what we are doing as do all those involved and supporting us..
I
Nearly every other post in this thread is about milliom buying things
What makes you think that is the case.
This isn’t a dig i am voicing some worries i have.
We are not worried so you don’t need to be, just use some vision and drive or we would still be wondering what it was like on the moon or walking around with no shoes.
Ps, We have done the slowly bit, Hence we are in negotiations for a further 12,000 square foot of display space.
but do you have the man power/resources/money and all those other things to restore it?
Yes, but i think thas has been covered before.
i really want to know the collecting policy, if this museum goes head over heels we could loose so much.

Airframe Collecting Policy
1. Airframes at risk
2. Airframes related to the NW – especially Bae/EE types
3. Rescue Helicopters (RAF MRS was jointly formed at Millom)
4. Airship material – large connections to NW
5. Aircraft that have a dual civil/military role – ie 748
6. Personnel projects – that covers everything else as the museum is a personnel project for most of us
Head over heels
Never, No creditors, owns most of the buildings etc, stands on its own two feet. Collection is also protected from creditors etc.
, raf millom should have local airframes/exhibits.

Yes we do, but why limit the visitor base hence we have the different themes/displays on the different sites.
Glynn and his team are TERIFFIC! … the future looks bright with RAF Millom Museum… Im sure one of ‘Lakes Lightnings’ will end up there sometime soon.!
Only one π π
A Tornado cockpit in Devon needs a new home shortly…..
.
We will leave this one for Merkle, as we have got one of each and maybe a third to come.
However if it is at risk give us a shout.
Wrecks & Relics 23 is not due for release until 2012.
.
Ah gives us plenty time to collect some more, anyone know of anything at risk that needs saving – it seems to becoming our speciality subject.
