    You clearly don’t know much about the Western fighter community do you!

    It is very different from the Topgun playboy image that many people have, Western fighter pilots are trained to be managers and analysts.

    In the west pilots are encouraged to talk to each other, manage missions with multiple platforms and resources then analyse the outcome.

    This process is fostered with exchange pilot tours and Qwalified Weapons Instructor Courses (thats the RAF term but it carries true accoss NATO).

    Your right that he is not going to know system details and he even joked about using Janes for research but he would be qualified to analyse what happened and draw conclusions about the MKI and BISON.

    U have to understand. it takes very long time to get deal with IAF and it takes even longer to implement. So that technology that was offered in early 90s for both RAM and Kopyo is obsolete by Russian standards. So his merely analysing obsolete stuff.

    trust me, he knows more about the capabilities than you ever will;)

    My information is exactly based on Phazotran statement. Where Kopyo-21 is inferior to Kopyo-M/F. These have alot more credibility. Only Radar manufacturer knows the frequencies and capability of Radar. Pilots are just talk.

    If operational pilots don’t show it, doesn’t that mean it’s not tactically useful, as it’ll wear the airframe out? An over G state isn’t any more relevant than running your engines past redline and burning them up, for a brief burst of speed.

    There is no evidence of IAF doing it and it is high unlikely in air to ground operations. he cannot even correctly say the version of MKI.
    whole video has so many inconistencies.

    I somewhat disagree. I feel that you are taking his words out of context and overstating it.

    I think basically it says that the SU-30 is slightly better than the F-15 or F-16; but vastly inferior to the F-22,

    The video debunks the claims that flanker fanatics make that airshow maneuvers (cobra like) will win combat. The exercise shows that the reason that supposedly inferior aircraft were able to club the SU-30s like baby seals is because they were trying to use airshow maneuvers in combat that made them slow easy kills. (okay I was being a little melodramatic also on that last line);)

    This person harldy knows anything about Su-30MKI sustain turn capability as it will be only be known by test pilot as operational pilots dont show it for life of airframe and TVC. Everything from tumansky engine to MIG-21 radar to V engine is wrong. if Koyp-21 essentailly late 80s tech is so dangers so think what can Kopyo-m/F capability.

    there are so many accuracies in briefing by mixing equipment/manufactures/timelins/versions/country of origin. does not look any background research.

    Ground based radars are fine if you’re speaking only of homeland defense. They still have many limitations with range against low altitude targets, or where terrain creates holes in their coverage. Ground based radars won’t help you much if you have to fight an away game though.

    Ground based radars just liks SAM can also be transported by strategic airlift to battlefied. AWACS doesnot operate in vaccum. It needs land bases and tanker support. and low altitude targets can also be picked by fighter radar.

    .

    Empty weight of fighter:
    a. 15,196 kg(Early F-15E with F100-PW-220)
    b. 15,695 kg(Late F-15E with F100-PW-229)

    5. Empty weight of the two CFTs:
    a. 1,981 kg(Early F-15E with F100-PW-220)
    b. 1,990 kg(Late F-15E with F100-PW-229)

    6. Fuel capacity:
    a. Internal fuel loading:6,129 kg (JP-8)
    b. CFTs’ fuel loading:
    * 4,436 kg(Early F-15E with F100-PW-220)
    * 4,439 kg(Late F-15E with F100-PW-229)
    c. External fuel loading:5,645 kg(610 US gallons tanks*3)
    d. Maximal fuel loading:
    * 16,209 kg(Early F-15E with F100-PW-220)
    * 16,212 kg(Late F-15E with F100-PW-229)

    7. Maximal external loading:11,113 kg

    8. MTOW:36,742 kg

    15,695kg (empty does this include AESA radar equiped SG)+ 1990kg(CFT)=17,685kg empty+ 10568kg fuel(internal+CFT)=28,253kg-36742kg= 8,500kg Maximum external load with full internal fuel load.

    The volume of airspace(and the length of station time) that an AWACS can see is far superior to the MIG 31 or any fighter. There’s no way that a single pilot, and his on board systems, can manage battlespace like a crew of dedicated operators. Russia would just do away with its AWACS aircraft if individual fighters had the situational awareness necessary for that task.

    They are not increasing the quantity of AWACS just improving the 20-25 that are in operation. U should understand that primary sensor are ground based radars. Which direct MIG-31 to right place and with superior speed/range/altitude/turn ability MIG-31 can direct group of fighters and thats what they are doing. AWACS are for help to less capable aircraft. Not aircraft with 5th generation ability.

    A single pilot can never replace a crew of radar operators in terms of the workload management. A fighter will never have a radar that is as capable as that on board an AWACS plane, even in workload wasn’t an issue.

    MIG-31 operates at twice the heights of AWACS and it twin engine are producing as much thrust as 4 engine AWACS. Even 80s its radar can see as far as AWACS of that era. IRBIS is range is no less than AWACS of present era. And u dont need operators for analysing radar returns. it is the job computers/artificial intelligencer to identitify/priorities/anyalyse threats and take corrective actions. When they advertize BARS first time a decade ago. why they said it can create protrait of target and count the blades in engines of airline.

    So Airbus UK (a foreign owned company operating in the UK) can’t count for the UK but BAE Systems USA (a UK owned foreign operating company) neither???? LOL. Hypocrisy at its best. :rolleyes: As for space industry, guess who made Galileo less of an embarrassment, yes a UK built satellite! :rolleyes:

    P.S. R-R and BAE Systems are the only UK aerospace companies eh? How about you try QinetiQ, GKN, Meggitt, etc… . :rolleyes:
    :

    surely hypocricy at best.. It would Chinese and Russian that would have bought large amount of firms in US and would be largest contractor there due there money and expertize. It is just that special relationship that BAE can use middleast money to buy firms in US without some one blocking it. There is nothing special about BAE or RR. There is claim of second largest aerospace nation without any factual data to back it up.
    u have to subtract this from RR figures.

    Rolls-Royce Deutschland has a workforce of around 3,000 divided between its two sites in Dahlewitz near Berlin and Oberursel near Frankfurt am Main.

    Well I have just come from a seminar hosted by Peter Newton, along with a few Airbus and RR reps – on Civil Aviation Growth and Emissions – Mr Newton being the assistant director of the Aviation Environment at the Deparment of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.

    According to him the UK aerospace industry had a turnover of 19.84 billion pounds in 2007 – with 43.3 billion pounds in oders. Making it the second largest aerospace industry in the world.

    I dont know how it come to 19B pound a year. Both BAE/RR has other busineses and like energy/marine/systems. some of the turnover is from overseas subsidiaries. And aerospace includes Space Industry and services which UK has none.

    By certain measures the UK has the worlds second largest aerospace industry.

    China has second largest aerospace industry interms of volume and value but largest interms of manpower employed.

    As i said before, british empire withered long back, they were only riding the ghost of it till now. With this financial mess that is also not helping.

    Now touring the gulf begging…

    Do anyone see hope for British Aircraft still??

    The only hope left for British aircraft is when they convert to Peoples Democratic Republic of Great Britain and turn House of commons into Politbureau
    After EasternEU/Gulf now dalai lama. what next with money left in the world?

    Actually, given recent performance of the Russian AF in Georgia, Ukraine will try to get its hands on latest ground-based defense systems. That can be bought and shipped with much less public attention. A few HAWK batteries … no medie headline.

    Ukraine already has much better SAMs than Hawk. And no one is willing to sell upgraded version of Western SAMs to dysfunctioal state like UKraine. as no one will know where end up at the end. They maybe directly shipped to Russia for higher amount of money. There recent sell of tanks to Sudan, SAMs from active stock to Georgia and kh-15 to Chna/Iran is more sign of desperation for money.

    this seems to me the fasted application of TVC seen. 360 degree turn in about 3 seconds. Su-35/PAK-FA with superior FBW/TWR/Sleeker profile will be better.
