Sounds like an odd day out then!

But if the flying exhibits all left and based away from Duxford that would mean the Fighter Collection hangar empty, no ML407, no Sally B, no OFMC, no HAC etc…..would there still be enough for a day out? Do you think the museum has funds to buy in static aircraft to fill the gaps? And what more could they bring in that wasn’t the same?

“Its good to see that they will be out and about next year, its just a shame that they are a shadow of there former selfs.

    Phill”

Shadows of former selfs don’t normally win Best Display do they?

Press Release from OFMC this morning…

Day 1 of this years Biggin Hill Air show has been a huge success for Old Flying Machine Company. The Best Team Trophy was awarded to Old Flying Machine Company’s Spitfire and Mustang flown by Paul Bonhomme and Nigel Lamb.

I thought the aircraft that had gone were OFMC’s and had been bought by a Canadian set up. HHA had been ‘looking after’ them…….

The funeral of Ray Hanna has been preliminary booked to take place at Parham church on 15th December 2005 at 12.00pm. Moore Bros of Framlingham are handling the arrangements.

The funeral is for close friends and family.

For the many many many others that wish to attend there will be a memorial service in the spring. More details will follow in due course.

I understand the plan is to go ahead next year – they suffered with the weather for the day time air displays as much as Duxford which was a real shame as they had over 700 people attend the 1940s dinner dance in the evening which was a roaring success by the sound of it.

With regards to the cockpit ID – try contacting the organisors – Steve Pepper – on 07711 430 472 who may be able to tell you who they booked it with.

    Good Luck.

A donation from the magazine (which has profired from OFMC over the years) to the following might go someway to atone:

    Mark Hanna Surgical Research Fellowship
    The Appeals Director-Blonde McIndoe Centre
    Queen Victoria Hospital
    East Grinstead
    West Sussex
    RH19 3DZ

At least an apology I would hope!!??

This is a difficult time in the Hanna’s lives that is once again being brought out into a very public arena. A simple warning call from editorial staff to OFMC perhaps could have eleviated the shock and subsequent upset. Bad call Aeroplane Monthly.

What a lovely idea JDK and what a shame that most people missed the point of your thread. Well done Bob for refuelling in all weather at Duxford!
