One from me
I believe it’s P7350 she was doing displays around Thorney and Portsmouth area on that day
Dak went u/s after start won’t be at Southport tomorrow
Your pilots bring countless happiness to so many people, it was such a privilege to see these beautiful machines in flight at the Shoreham Airshow today. Our thoughts are with the family and colleagues of the brave pilot who lost his life this afternoon, and we salute his fellow airmen who so courageously continued with the display in the face of their great loss. God bless you all.
I have taken this off the BBMF website not much more to say on this sad day:(
Our MkIIa P7350 is the a/c involved
Thanks for the replies I have the one Mark12 posted are there any more out there?
“New scheme for MK356? ” possibly:D
I will pass on your thanks tomorrow
Could have been the Lanc she took off again at 1800 ish for an event at Derby
I don’t think its official, but one or two of the spit pilots have flown with Paul Day at East Kirby…..

All our fighter pilots do 25-30 hours in the Chipmunk followed by a a couple of trips in a Harvard only then are they let loose in a Hurricane. After 10 flying hours in the Hurricane they progress to the baby Spits IIa, Vb and IX and then the following season the Mk XIXs. If any of the pilots have flown with the Major I suspect it would be for pleasure and not training purposes.

Hello Lancman
Pleased you liked the DVD, it’s very good. There were only a couple of bits with Fluffy in, he was off sick when they did the interviews and, to be fair, I think you need to be his wife to recognise him…..great shots of his rear end!!
Mrs Fluffy
They still do.
