Best LLA day I’ve seen, Clive Rowley gave an excellant final display in MK356.
Quinny I will pass on your thanks to him although I know he looks in on here sometimes
Flying starts about 1400 and finishes about 1600 you should get a Dak display followed by PZ / P7 then Lanc, 3x Mk XIX’s and LF together weather permitting
For who. The general public who, after years of going to Coningsby now have to find Scampton
The Tourist Authorities who have to trash lots of expensive marketing materials because they say Coningsby and not Scampton
Or perhaps (and this is the most important) the servicemen and women who have to uproot their families to move them a few miles (not much distance but a lot of time on Lincolnshire roads) to accommodation that has already been condemmed.
You have already been told by at least three different past and serving members of the RAF that it isnt happeneing. Which part of this are you having difficulty with?
Thank you that sums it up nicely
be good for the BBMF to move there.
James
Have you actually been to Scampton! it is so run down we refused to go there when Coningsby’s runway was resurfaced, we went to Barkston Heath instead and that wasn’t that good.
It was PZ865 Don’t know who the display was for though.
Fluffy meets Robbie at Duxford where part of the episode about the supercharger was filmed. The bloke in Germany I believe was Sigi Knoll he helped us out with spares for our DB motor.
Here’s one of XS596 after is major servicing at RAF Benson in the early eighties. A young fluffy is in the picture somewhere.
Quote ‘however Lincoln is a very large tourist attraction and a Lancaster on it’s doorstep would be a big attraction’.
We get on average twenty thousand visitors through the hangar each year. If you want to visit it shouldn’t matter where we are located. However as I said in post no5 its just an unfounded rumour which nobody on the flight is taking seriously.
HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Be interesting to know where these UNFOUNDED
rumours start from!!!!
Have you tried http://www.lostbombers.co.uk it might help you find what you are after.
