Thats over 16 years ago when I agree BBMF didn’t really care about being authentic but since 1993 a lot more research goes into our schemes and I hope they look a lot better these days. apart froms the Lancs dark earth but thats another story:rolleyes:.

P7350 camouflage is A but the BBMF tend to commemorate pilots who flew B (!). Again, as normal people wouldn’t notice, they only repaint the letters, not the whole aeroplane. So the markings are in the ‘spirit’ of K9998 and not quite historically correct, but who here will notice when she loops and barrel rolls overhead?……not me:D
This comment is based on what ?? Hearsay or fact
P7350 was due to go but crosswind was out of limits for her , both Hurris recovered to CGY about 20.10.
MK356 returned this afternoon and should be at Dux this weekend
Pistonpower! -The reason the forums were asked for help is because we know there are people on here who have spares and access to museum aircraft in this country and abroad. The valve in question is no doubt being repaired by one of our approved companies, but as the display season is upon us and the Lanc is yet to airtest it made sense to ask for help.
ThreeSpool – BAE is the design auth for the Lanc.
Peter – I can’t tell from the picture if the valve is there, but the sprocket guard/ bracket is still there
No, only because I am leave this week, but I would guess that it is internal wear and thus still supplying fuel when it is in the off position which isn’t ideal if you want to shut that engine down if there is a problem.
It’s under the centre section leading edge bonnet or hinged panel just outboard of the jacking pad studs. If you look at the picture in post 48 you will see the bonnet securing screws there are 6 in the picture and in the middle of these are the 3 jacking pad adaptor studs.

not sure on tools, as I am sat at home and unaware of problem until I read the thread. They are chain driven. You will need screwdriver to undo 30 screws to lift up bonnet. Do your best, if you at least ascertain if they are there, that would be a bonus. Can go from there then.

I’m quite willing to go and have a look at the St Mawgan Shackleton now and in daylight, you need to contact me sooner rather than later so I can get a team together etc
Baz
Yes please, go for it. Please be aware, though, they are under the leading edge bonnets on the Lanc. I’m presuming they’re in the same place on a Shack. Let me know. Sorry no pics, I’m on leave!!!
Fluffy
Hindenberg, have pmd you.

I would like to say memory but no I have the DB605 and DB601 spares, DB605 gen and tech in english and german manuals plus the Bosch component manuals and some VDM info.
Its the electric speed control govenor Pt nos 9-9518 for the VDM variable pitch propellor
I would perhaps agree to wear a little ‘fussy’ item, may I suggest designs include Lancaster floating above head, with perhaps a little wispy suggestion of a cloud?
Mrs fluffy
thought so!
OK, just to put those of you who don’t know me out of their misery:
Chief Technician Paul Blackah, RAF, BBMF, Black 6, historic aircraft etc etc
and Mrs Fluffy says she doesn’t ‘do’ hats!
