Iain43: It could indeed be a Hermes prototype. Some interesting stuff at Hatfield in those days.

Please, please reinstate the notifications of posts in subscribed threads and those in which we have posted. Otherwise we can’t know when there are answers to comments (such as i am making now). Will I get a notification of THIS post?

Iain43: I think in fact that at 8:17 you see the Sperrin AND the Ashton. Look like a Hastings (or Tudor?)and a Lightning at 8:13.

Those hangars should be a clue, but I don’t recognise them. I’ve asked a friend, and he can’t identify them either. We’ll search further.

I wish I could help, but can’t without a bit of research. I’ll certainly ask around. PS: I wonder if the “notification” feature will work for this thread.

I’m not even getting notifications about THIS thread. Can someone give us some feedback as to when our much-loved forum will be back to its former glory?

I’m still not getting notification on subscribed or contributed threads, as I’ve said before. Is this just me or do others suffer the same thing?
    Thanks

I’ve already posted on the general admin thread, but got no reply. Probably because I’m not getting email notices to subscribed threads. Can that please be reinstated, plus “last non-read post”? Thanks

Just surfing through the net and I see “scrapped at Bedford 1952”, but in my haste I lost the site that told me. Is that helpful?

Tony was a Flt Lt, but his crew were sergeants, so I think they would have been aware of it. Especially as he was quite keen on enemy hardware. I don’t mean keeping it, just noting it and photographing it.

Tony Tubbenhauer tells me he has never heard of the propeller, so presumably after his time with 203, 1942-3.

I’ve asked Tony Tubbenhauer, who was with 203 from December 1942 to November 1943, if he ever heard of this trophy. I’ll let you know if he recalls it. There were a lot of Italian wrecks around Benghazi at the time https://sites.google.com/site/lgarey/benghazigraveyard

jamesm: Thanks for all your work with the new format. What worries me most is that everything is so slow to load. Can anything be done?

Also, has the function of getting to the last unread post now gone? And I find that have the latest post at the start of the pile is confusing – or can I invert the list myself?

    Thanks.

Just in case you want to see the report (which says what Propstrike reports):

Thanks Brian. Also from our earlier exchange there is little doubt that this is Bisley (Blenheim V) BA101, but I appreciate your input. Any idea of what any of the bits are? I think there is a rib (with the holes) perhaps from a control surface. I compared it with a cutaway.
