seeing a picture of RM689 brings shivers down my spine, why? I was at woodford that day and saw it hit the ground. I hope if it does fly they put a memorial plaque on it for poor Dave Moore who lost his life in that accident.
I do not want it restored but I suppose it is too late!
has anyone got any pictures of the vulcan xm 657 before she was scrapped at manston in 1992?
did anyone notice the tiger coloured phantom in the picture from hanningfords????
I last saw her at cranfield last year
I dont know about you guys but if they put airshow tickets up by another £2 and give that to the voc maybe that would help. or is my medication wearing off!
I am ever hopeful that she will fly. I also understand she would be used for test purposes too, is that right?
Xm603 is a 301 series vulcan and the only vulcan that could benefit from its engines is Xm655 at welsbourne. I can honestly see woodford closing in the next 10 years so something must be done to save it. In my personal opinion things started to go downhill for her when the airshows stopped.
I dearly hope something is done just as memorial to the guys who made her. But obviously bae couldnt give a monkeys. history doesnt matter for an example see concorde!
They want 603 at manchester airport so maybe bae might help with transport of it but then again they havent given a toss about her up to now!
Ok who has been reading Sven Hassel novels then!!!!
Job tvoyjemdagie my mother is safe thanks:D

probably 1986 and this cat used to be resident at duxford untill it had an accident in 1998 when is struck something under water and sank killing i think 2 people. I is now being restored at the fromer naval base at lee on solent along with the ex greenpeace cat too. hope this helps and would like to see some more pictures of finningley if you have any?
Ironically the last arj to be produced by bae systems is the prototype 146 G-luxe which is in the process of being turned into a flying weather laboratory so if i see it i will take a picture of it for you.
We did have a c5 galaxy pass through once in the 80’s at manchester. In the 70’s vulcans used to land there too (iknow it isnt airliners but it is unusual), but, in 1991 we had a north korean IL86 i think it was a government one.
i have a picture took from a harrier of a victor and 2 lightnings but cant post it bugger!
That seems to be the response i got too. I think this maybe something to do with health and safety though.
I havent come across a website and i seem to remeber an almighty noise one day as i passed so maybe it has. The nosewheel can be sorted with a new assembly but i havent a clue if they have looked for one. sorry I cant be more helpful.
She has been doing engine runs for ages the problem is that the main wheel steering assembly has broke and cant move so she is static at the moment, she will never fly, been out in the open for the best part of 21 years snd if you look at her close up you can see that. 603 was to have had a respray but waht with the turmoil that has been going on at woodford due to current programmes i dout that will happen either. sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
