Thanks both:D
Hi Phill
Yes, its a worry about having people use your pics without your permission and with anything on line it is always a risk – however, there are a couple of things you can do to minimise this:
1) Post the images at low resolution – for example I post mine at 96dpi 800 pixels on the longest length and then save them at around 80kb. This does not prevent someone using them on line but the image will be far too small/low quality to be of use to anyone to print/publish
2) Use photoshop or another photo editing program to write your name and web details and a copyright note on the image itself so if anyone does use it and someone else sees it they will know where it came from and in some instances it may give you free publicity!
3) Something I do not do but which is possible is to set your site so that no one can download anything. If someone right clicks they just get a message saying the site is for viewing only – best to google for this software though
4) Add metadata to the image itself again possible in photoshop for example so your name and contact details are saved within the image and no one can claim they do not know where it originates from
At the end of the day you just have to weigh up the pros and cons and I reckon with larger versions of your images available on your site you will keep people coming back to visit!!
Cheers
Andy
Hi Phill
Like the site although I could not click on any of the pictures to see bigger versions – not sure if this is my browser though – if not I think being able to see bigger versions (say 800 pixels at least) would add value! Some nice images!
Andy
Does anyone have any tips on visiting the show – the best way to get there from the UK? train/car?? where to stay etc?
Thanks Stieglitz – one to remember for next year!!
Hi all,
Can anyone confirm if the Typhoon displayed both days and when – I was waiting for it on the Saturday but had to leave a bit early and there was still no notice of when it was supposed to be arriving – I guess I will see it next season!!
Hi Fly Fort
Pictures look very good – I went to Koksjide 2 years ago and the runway was miles from the crowd and the flying therefore even further away (and seemed to go on with no one really taking any notice) – the GAF F-4F Phantom I had been looking forward to taking pictures off was but a tiny dot in my viewfinder – has this changed and, if not, how did you get so close??!!
Dora-9
V.nice shots – the Sea Fury one is a cracker!!
Hi Septic
I was at Rochester awaiting the Spitfire PL965 at 11.30am but we heard there was engine misfire and the pilot returned to base as a precaution – do you know if the Spit made it in the afternoon as we had to leave Rochester at 1pm… (nice relaxed open day event although not too many volunteers for the ‘aerolpane v’s people tug of war’ in 30 degrees C!!)
Great shots – nice to see something different from the usual UK stuff – thanks for sharing
Very nice shots – look forward to the first F-15/16/18 articles appearing in Flypast…!! :diablo:
Chailey gets a big thumbs up from me – last year’s show was a classic, especially for photographic opportunities – Rougham’s August airshow is also another smaller show where you can get quality flying without the crowds!
Nice shots and thanks for sharing – nice to see something different!!
I’ve been to a few Woodchurch shows and they are very good – display line is close enough for good photography with a nice tree/field backdrop – basically a great informal friendly show with no vast traffic jams or billions of people to worry about!! – if you have not been it is well recommended!!
Stunning pics – how do you get the opportunities to take these – any tips??!!
