Only in case of EU regulations and a crime within EU partners.
What can be considered a war-crime however, is killing Libyans in order to sell weapons, like Rafale.

I couldn’t agree more, however selling more Rafales was only a side effect of the real (and hidden) reasons why we went in Libya (which were criminal alright). You’d have to be pretty deluded to think that France attacked Libya just to sell Rafales.

Baring in mind the title of this thread, I wondered about this element……..
Playing :dev2: advocate, this statement tells me that Rafale has indeed been subsidised by the french government and although I am in no position, nor wish to be, to determine whether it’s illegal or not, it certainly would seem to be an advantage factor that would absolutely help make the Rafale being purportedly cheaper than the typhoon.
Even if it is a legal subsidy, it has clearly helped dassault be able to offer Rafale “cheaper” for the indians than the typhoon.

If this wasn’t the case, how would Rafale have stood up to it then in both costs and/or capability?

Of course I could be typing complete b******s, but I enjoyed it never-the-less.

The Rafale developments that have been funded by the french government have all been required by the french AdlA & MN. Hence I don’t see how you can call this subsidy.

Besides, even if it were true (which is most probably not), I think it’s game if it means that you can keep the competences to build a fighter aircraft within your country.

I know that the EU is all about stripping european nations about their sovereignty, but everything that allows France to retain it a bit more is already a victory.

That is only against US fighters whose large economy of scale allow them to price their products and weapons cheaper than any other western power.
They also often sweeten the deal with economic aid, political support etc.

+ blackmail, or even murders (JSF in Holland).

There are very very few wars that haven’t started with a flase flag. The next one will be no exception. I might be wrong about USS enterprise, but there will be a false flag, of that I’m 100% certain.

The US economy is collapsing, the debt is untenable, the only thing left that the US have is a big military and very few real reasons to use it.

Think about it .

Well feel free to beleive the propaganda you hear in the news. Thing is that when you think about it, it doesn’t make sense.

I think the best would be to find about 20-30 C/D hornets and upgrade them all to a common fleet. Say ask Kuwait if they don’t want to sell theirs 😎

To the best of my knowledge, Clark’s claims have never been confirmed by any major military figure of the time.

No kidding :rolleyes:

However his words have been confirmed by recent events, and in France you can’t count all the comments about how Syria is slaughtering poor innocents, there are even tv ads that mention it, not to talk about the news day in & day out, and countless “documentaries”.

You had the same about Libya before the islamists took over.

Anyway it’s pretty clear that the CIA and the UK/France are installing islamists all around the middle east and north Africa, destroying every more or less independant nation in the area (Libya, Syria, and soon Iran) to install salafist puppets instead. It’s going to get quite funky when Israel is going to be surrounded by islamist countries, and yet another false flag is going to start things up for good. And our soldiers are going to be stuck in the middle defending Israel after our own governments have made it happen.

The ground is ripe for civil war within Europe Greece-style if we kick our traitor politicians and don’t play along… Nice next few years we’re gonna have…

Well Gygax has to answer to the defense minister, and calling sick isn’t an option obviously.

However there’s also the fact that the SAF asked to work a simulation on how 16 Rafales could do the work of 22 Gripens for the same budget, which tells you how much the prefer the Rafale, and also the very fact that the report was disclosed in the first place, which tells you the SAF is displeased with the choice of the Gripen.

The choice of the SAF is pretty obvious, but I guess that they haven’t read jackonicko and others tell them that the Gripen is the best choice for the SAF 😎

Loke your explaination is very credible, however that’s not the explaination given by the swiss defense minister.

He claimed he wasn’t aware of what was inside the report, nor did he mention that the results of the report have been updated with new information from Saab. Then he changed his tune and added some other stuff.

His whole behavior is fishy to say the least and that’s what people criticise.

fishy because you don’t like seeing it?

single engined fighters like F-16, Mirage 2000 and Gripen are all reported to have low cost per flying hour.

Just that I don’t think adding one engine to a design will make the flight hour cost more than double. Poor F5 users must have paid an arm and a leg to keep them flying.
