Didn’t French few years ago add rocket pods to Rafale’s arsenal? At least it was seriously considered at some point, based on effective rocket attacks made by older French fighters.

There was talk about it but as usual with french forces there was no budget for it. We spend everything doing Obama’s wish. God know what we’re going to do now.

Ok, let’s capitalize it a bit (I think I earned a free drama voucher the other day)

“You might be able to afford more Super Hornets, but they’re going to die in the high-end fight, and I don’t know how economical that is.”

Thanks. Is the strategic facility contracted for in October of 2016 part of their MILCON (RAF Marham) cost? If you take out the R&D share, given UKs Tier 1 partner status and the benefits that entail, and the MILCON and sustainment costs it does not look bad at all given that they are going for what is likely to be (long term) the most expensive variant to procure.

That’s just ~$236 Million per plane with only 5 years support. Cheapish.

France can’t even afford electricity to light the lampposts where I live. I doubt they could fund even a 3rd gen fighter.

Yes the light grey and dark grey colors are taken from those H-6 resp. J-20 photos. Clearly they’re exactly the same as white and dark green.

The light gray looks more like the white & the dark gray looks more like the dark green. Or are you suggesting the opposite? :stupid:

The fighting spirit of the Finns were many times that of the Soviets during the Winter War.
It is highly likely that any war would be with Russia as the attacker, so the Finns would be
fighting on their home ground, so I doubt it would be different now.

    So what’s the most likely:

1/ FInland joins Nato & the US installs missiles
    2/ Russia attacks Finland.

    You have one hour.

So you’ve generalized a character trait to an entire race of people.

I’d try to explain what’s wrong with that but I doubt you’d get it. It may be the 21st century but apparently neo-facism is still thriving.

What do you mean a race of people?

In both of my posts, I expressed doubt that the report is accurate. That was why I included couching terms such as: “unconfirmed” and “alleged”. There is still the possibility that the French journalist who claims to have received the information from Israeli officers is telling the truth. There is also the issue of Syrian news reporting that it was an air strike, only to then report that it was a “missile attack”. The video sounds as if Jets were passing overhead.

Here’s why it’s most probably fake news.

Western air attack with bad intel or malfunction of smart weapon kills civilians= evil or ineffective. Su-24 carpet bombs city using dumb bombs= kills only jihadi scum.

Not to say that Russian intervention wasn’t effective. It just amazes me the slide rule morals of those applying standards. Bombs are going to kill innocents, period. I guess it just depends on your worldview who’s dropping said bombs.

Are you sure you are replying to my post? I don’t remember writing anything at all about the killing of civilians whatsoever. Only about the results of the bombings on ISIS, which for some odd reasons didn’t seem very effective as long as they were done by western jets.

Your explanation seems to be that they do operate on bad intel, which is scary in its own right.

10 years in it seems that a Su24 with dumb bombs gets more results than 11000 sorties of western jets including SHs.

So I suggest keeping the F14A in service would have been the best choice.
