From Sign’s pdf I only deduce that:

Gripen NG range is supposed to be 1300km + 30 min on station (?) (700NM) with 6 AAMs + External tank(s). Note that it isn’t specified how many tanks.

It would be nice to have ranges for the Eurofighter. All I’ve seen seem to be prospective ranges.

As for the SH, Boeing only states 500NM+ combat radius, which doesn’t mean much.

    🙂
Sweden wants a strategic partner in brazil as well, so..
if the exludation of US components is on the agenda then so be it. they will manage it.
Volvo Aero and Saab chose a cheaper and better suited engine. This is where the crutual american parts goes.
As fast as it was integrated (a year?), as fast can another engine be integrated.

Making the plan even more “paper”

Soon Saab is going to tell brazil to develop its own plane 😀

What’s wrong with being a puppet!?

In Norway we love Uncle Sam 😀

I hope your collective a$$es don’t hurt too much from selecting the JSF 😮

France wants a strategic partner in Brazil while the US want a puppet. Which one do you think is worse?

I’m looking for cold hard fact from official sources. Official releases (manufacturer or air force). I’ll add them to the original post as they come.

Full missile load is pretty vague, besides there’s no info on the tanks that are carried…

I don’t think Saab has payed bribes in Brazil, and also I don’t think that Dassault has bribed the Brazilian president.

    LOL

    How cute!!!

Then why does Embraer prefer the Saab collaboration and not the Dassault collaboration?

    Money?

If you going to bribe people, why not bribe the one making the decision?
Its much more effective…and its not 200 bribes just 1. Easier getting away with, and cheaper. On the policial side it seems also easier due to no need for hard data on why the decision is made in that direction.

    So…
who have been bribed who? 😉

It’s pretty clear that since Dassault had bought lula and jobim, saab bought everyone else :dev2:

I don’t know Nic, I have trouble deciding between them. But I’m leaning towards the single seater.:)

Well if you don’t know I do 😀

The gripen 2 seater looks better than the single seater anyway.

Well well well… it doesn’t bode well for the Rafale at the moment; I think it will come down to cost and to how many people Saab bought in the FAB and in the brazilian industry.

Nice try but the ‘1000 nm strike mission’, that is ‘radius of action’ which includes the range of the Scalp/Storm Shadow.

I’ve been wondering that too so I have emailed dassault to ask if it did, or if conformals were used to provide that range. Do you have a source that says it includes the range of the weapon?
