Oh please cry me a river.
France & the UK were all over Libya & would have love to bomb Syria, & I didn’t see you raise too much protest about it.

The people who fired that Buk knew – or should have known (it was easily checkable) that there were airliners flying overhead. They could have checked where they were. The chance that an aircraft at that height was a Ukrainian ground attack aircraft (it seems unlikely that it would have been photo-recce if it was above cloud) seems to me to be approximately zero. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more airliners than Ukrainian air force aircraft flying over within range of their their missiles.
And your IDF pilot doesn’t know that there are hospitals or civilians around when they are bombing in a city? Chances are there are much more civilians than legit targets, provided their targets are legit in the first place. And you try to have us believe that they knew it was an airliner, when it had been rerouted outside its usual route, and made fly lower, and escorted by fighters nearby? PLEASE! Are you paid to say that crap?
As far as I can see, they were shooting at anything they detected, despite knowing (& if not knowing, being criminally negligent, since it was, as I keep saying, information easily accessible to them) that there were lots of airliners up there.
If, as you say, there are much more airliners flying than urkainian militaries, and if, as you imply, the rebels shoot indiscriminately, then they should have shot more airliners than ukrainian planes right? Yet they shot quite a few military planes & “only” one airliner.
You keep saying that they were just a rag-tag bunch of rebels who couldn’t help it. ********! They weren’t children.
They probably have much less experience than the jihadis that does your work in Syria, after Libya & al.
BTW, what battle were they in? Was anyone bombing them, or anyone within the area they covered? Everything I’ve read says not.
And in what battle are the pilots who bomb civilian targets? When was the last time the US or IDF AF had any adversary worth worrying about? When they bomb stuff they are about as much at risk than this sam battery. Probably less so.

Why is MICA required for such mission? IS has no air force to talk about (unless you count those two L-39s as a serious threat to Rafale)
Mica IR doubles up as an IIR sensor. Even Mirage 2000s used their Magic II missiles to ID of their refueling tankers from longer range.

I dont think rafale can carry that much Exocet missiles though ( never seen them actually fit more than 1 Exocet on rafale )
Only the MN uses the Exocet so far, AdlA Rafales don’t operate it, and MN carries only one for bring back capabilities, which is not an issue if you operate from land bases.
Nic
I think you could fit up to 3 Exocets from a Rafale, and why not 4 if you go with CFTs + a single 2000L ET, or even 5 if you dispense of the ETs completely. Not too shabby for a medium sized fighter.

I would’ve thought that was obvious? As a nation with CATOBAR experience and plans to build another carrier, Brazil is hardly going to want to step backwards to STOBAR.
Costly!
Not happening unless gripen NG goes CATOBAR
Kilt, blue paint & claymore. What else do you need?
I’ll go for the 4 B52s launching 48 harpoons.

SAAB and EMBRAER visit carrier SAO PAULO on last September 04
The team was analising and collecting data to assure if a Gripen Naval Version can operates, with safety, in the carrier NAe São Paulo.
lol
So they have waited until desert storm to figure that you don’t attack a target right after you made one pass at it? I mean? Come on! If you don’t make a second pass, then I guess they should have figured out you don’t make another plane do the second pass or you’ll get the same result.
And they have also learned that you don’t paint A10s in dark green in the desert. Thanks Einstein, I was wondering what camouflage was for!

One of the most corrupt examples of “democracy” on the planet
How could a democracy be corrupt? That’s the fnebbing definition of democracy in the first place!

How can anyone seriously take the contents of a website called ‘whatreallyhappended’ as evidence of anything? Typing the name of the site into a search engine will produce hits related to a bizzare list of conspiracy theories.
You really should spend the time to read Kissinger’s memoirs. It’s full of conspiracy theories, but at least I think it’s safe to say you won’t manage to attack the source.

– “Gripen Next Generation for Denmark” in 2007, see page 10 showing 7,0 tonnes of empty mass
See page 3 of that document.
Hint that what I thought about the Gripen being the trojan horse of the US fighter industry to kill the European fighter market is not so far from the truth.
I’d bet an arm that the US industries subsidize the cost of the Gripen anywhere it competes with other Eurocanards, for instance Brazil or Swizerland.
