Come on it’s just a PR stunt to write in the press that the Russians would actually shoot down the US recon plane if it hadn’t fled over Sweden’s airspace.

Or maybe, as djcross says, it was low on fuel and they still used that to pull of a cheap “Putin shot my baby”. Although I think that’s less likely, since the swedes would probably have allowed access to their airspace in the case of an emergency.

In any case, what it shows is the complete disregard of the US military for other countries sovereignty.

The quality of the media globally is another thing that makes me wonder why the hell humanity as a whole is not revolting against the establishment.

Sometimes I wish V was real.

I think the interweb makes it quite easy (for those really interested to do it), to see through the propaganda of the regime.

I think the days of the interweb as we know it are counted for that same reason.

Actually it has at least 3 allies in the region ran by the more sane Shia governments. Syria got infected because the less sane Sunni governments in the region (Saudi Arabia and Qatar) started ploughing in support to the Syrian rebellion in the form of money, arms, TOW missiles and suicide bombers. The US/EU provided non-military support directly and arms indirectly. It was this support that kept the wounds open, similar to the Libyan intervention, which again has created nothing but a huge mess. Do you not see a pattern here?

Stable Iraq –> US/EU Intervention –> Gone to ****.
Stable Libya –> US/EU Intervention –> Gone to ****.
Stable Syria –> US/EU Support –> Gone to ****.
Stable Ukraine –> US/EU support –> Gone to ****.
Palestine –> US funding of Israel –> Gone to ****.
Aghanistan –> US/EU Intervention –> Gone to ****.

So where’s next? Iran? Wouldn’t be the first time. Shah II? Maybe a Pinochet II for Chile perhaps. Or a Montt II for Guatemala.

Strangely enough, protests in Bahrain have been huge but barely covered. We sent in advisers to assist their police.

“they either don’t have evidence at all, or the evidence shows something inconvenient”. This is beginning to smell of conspiracy theory. One of our forum members has a sig line that says something like whenever there are two opposing theories, the truth is somewhere between the two.

This kind of thinking always advantages the liar, since even if people don’t believe his lie, at least they won’t believe the truth either.

Corollary: if you don’t want people to know the truth about something, just pretend the opposite.

Oh well since I’m being painted as a dirty conspirationist because I don’t believe the nato version, I’m just going to add that it’s pretty convenient to focus all the news on the Ukraine when isreal is invading Gaza.

False flag as in the Ukrainians poking the militia to see what happens (and thus get useful intelligence or sympathy from the rest of the world with no risc for losses at all) or false flag as in it wasnt the militia that fired?

I’d say that it’s much more likely that the event was actually provoked rather than just being a case of bad luck. Now with all the propaganda on both sides, you’d be hard pressed to tell what really happened unless you were there.

Both versions sound pretty plausible, infinitely more so than the “putin did it” jonesy picked up from british newspapers.
