Bribery tainted deal with Saudi Arabia? Have you actually looked at what BAe was accused of? It was supposed to have allowed one billionaire member of the Saudi royal family (a senior government official, now a senior government minister, son of another billionaire senior government minister at the time) to transfer money between Saudi government accounts under his control via BAe accounts. Now, you may think that’s an odd thing to do, & I can think of a few unethical reasons for doing it, but it’s not exactly bribery, is it?
How about when Saudi Arabia threatened to cancel the Eurofighter deal if the UK government didn’t cancel an inquiry about alledged corruption in the al yamawhatever deal?
The inquiry was cancelled in the blink of an eye btw.

Do you mind if I give a blunt reply?
This is an aviation forum. I suspect most here are not really interested in a poster’s personal political views. I suspect fewer still, are interested in what (at least in an Australian context) would be considered extremist political views.
I suspect there are forums for political discussions. This is for an aviation forum.
War is the continuation of politics through other means. Plus the choice of a fighter aircraft is a very political one in 99% of all cases.
But if you so wish, there is a forum for civil aviation 😉

Even if Lybia want to buy Rafales to thank France for what we did, they must be sure that their material infrastructure and human ressources are ok to operate such a plane.
Why the hell would they want to thank us???
Somebody said modern cars aren’t sexy…
… I’ll take a Vanquish in black please!
No contest whatsoever:

double post
Actually I do.

While producing a V frame section for the typhoon is a “visible” compensation as a direct link can be established with the Typhoon bid it is only a relatively minor offset. Good for communication but it will not be enough and I am sure Typhoon Gmbh has much more to propose.
As a comparison France agreed to transfer flight rights to Ethiad and Emirates which both provides millions of turnover annualy and it was a difficult political decision in France as it was dassault vs air france jobs. This hit the new in france and created a debate within the country. France also agreed to set up permanent military presence in the UAE for army, navy and air force. Although the UAE pay some compensations it is still a significant investment for france. Unfortunately this military presence was not bound directly in the negotiations but dipomats thought the rafale deal would be a logical compensation.
This is completely ridiculous. Just forget the UAE deal damnit. We are going to win very few money with that deal (or even lose some as in the Leclerc deal), and Dassault doesn’t really need it, as most of its activity is centered about the civilian market & it already just bagged the Indian deal.
Just make a “take it or leave it” offer to the UAE and be done with it. If they don’t take it then fine go buy the Typhoon.

Considering the US agenda in the middle east I sincerely hope that we don’t sell Rafales to the UAE. If they buy it, it means that France has given in on some other stuff (like Turkey’s entrance in the EU for instance)… word is that the UAE are to bribe the french to force Turkey’s entrance in the EU, as a reward for Turkey doing the dirty work of the US in Syria.

Maybe the guy already tried a google search and then tried to post here to see if he could get more original pictures.

Quite expensive though.

It’s definately not good news for the Eurofighter that the US block integration of US weapons. That could hamper a couple of sales here & there.

Once again the scenario:
1. you accidentally get to read a mail where your wife discusses a master plan with her amant to poison you and cash your money
2. you call police but they tell you they cannot do much until an attempt has been made
3. you kill both as pre-emptive measure to save your life
4. you use the pre-emptive attack argument for your legal defenseOutcome:
a) absence of the pre-emptive argument in law plays against you and makes your reasons invalid
b) even objective evidence about the planned plot against you does not help here
c) you will be charged of murder 1st class and treated accordinglyAnalogies:
you – Israel
wife – Iran
amant – Syria
police – international community / lawCall your lawyer and discuss it with him, I already have.. There is nothing to argue about, I am afraid..
& this is IF you can prove that there was a plotted attempt. The comparison here is false, because we still have get proofs that Syria was planning to ship SAMs to Hezbollah.

Well the journalist who reported from Damas the tidbit I wrote on that page said that the IAF jets hardly flew over Syrian territory (if at all) during the mission.
