He was comparing combat career, from 1st combat mission to last combat mission. When was the F4 last used in anger by the way? Or the F5?

Su-57 Fury would be a nice name for it.

Anymore info on these mishaps? Is there more info on the Nov 15,2012 F22 crash and what was its cause?

I checked out the DSI issue that talked about it:

15 nov: 1 F22 crashed on take off with the pilot ejecting safely
15 nov: on a separate incident, a pilot applied too little power on take off and the aircraft left the ground before belly landing on the airstrop

8 dec: A F22 lost both horizontal stabilizers while landing in Pearl Harbour. Cost of the repairs $1,8 million.

As a matter of fact, Hollande had the media busy h24 with the gay marriage for a few months. I guess that after a demonstration in paris with about 800 000 persons against gay marriage, he had to put something else on the frontpage?

Now he’s refered to as Holland the warlock.

Jesus what is France coming to 🙁

    A few comments:

1/ I agree with Thobbes… Europe has been exploiting african countries since WWII, and they don’t seem keen to let go. Actually, I’m convinced that the best hope of african countries to thrive would be if european intervention stopped altogether. “Humanitarian” help is just bull to make people think we are helping africa and not just raping it. In 2 years, Thomas Sankara made burkina self sufficient. Just get rid of the IMF & world bank & send the UN away and you’re on the right path.

2/ I don’t know why the french intervention in Mali is plastered all over the news like that. France had been bombing and sending troops in various places in africa for many decades, and never had it been so much publicized.

3/ Hollande is heralded as a “warlord” all over the french press. Messiah style. Oh which brings us back to number 2.

    Nevermind…

Oh and 4/ it must be tough to be a french spy. One day you work against islamists in Afghanistan, the next day you work with them in Libya & Syria… and next thing you know you’re working against them in Mali… way to become schizo.

IIRC there were 3 F22 mishaps in the month of november 2012, one crash & two damaged F22s.

I think that France was probably glad to get rid of him. As for allowing him access to the media – well, it was difficult to prevent that. France has laws on freedom of speech.

Nicolas – the west didn’t put Khomeini in place. Western governments were terrified of the instability that they expected to follow the fall of the Shah, & backed the short-lived Bakhtiar government that Khomeini & his allies overthrew.

Well he sure prepared the revolution from France, a quiet house in the suburbs of Paris IIRC, and had access to all the media he wished to.
In this footage for instance http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3xsid_ayatholah-ruholah-khomeini-en-franc_news, he is called “the main Iranian political opponent”, “the major religous figure of the shiites”, “the most hardcore opponent to the Shah”.

Air France even chartered a plane to fly him back to Iran once the Shah went on “vacation”.

You all forget that the west actually put Khomeini in place to replace him because the shah was becoming more and more unpopular thanks in part to his tendency to spend most of the country’s wealth on US armament. There’s no way the Shah would have stayed in power to maintain this kind of spending craze. Khomeini was then undercut by the guardians of the revolution, but its okay we need bad boys to fuel our own military spending craze.

Much better looking than the Spitfire, IMO, & besides, nobody posted a pic of the best looking spitfire:

I don’t know why every brit thinks the spitfire is the best looking plane ever. Oh wait the answer lies withing the question.

Even amongst WWII fighters many planes look way better, with the FW190D & Ta152 series, every P40 bar the F model, the P51A, the Corsair, the La5FN/7 & Yak 3/9, or for english planes the mosquito, the tempest, the seafury…

    Anyway here’s my take:
