Never been, but only heard good things about it, so yes, I’ll be there !!
Great photos.
I was there on Saturday and was very impressed. A very nice airshow – definitely will go again
Oh no !
The Canadian Mafia, doubtless fooled by his Tweed obsession and upper class English accent, have mistaken JDK for an eccentric millionaire and kidnapped him.
Doubtless this will be like an episode of ’24’ – so we’ve got just 24 hours to save JDK !
Mmmmmmmm.
Right, I’m off down to the pub – can someone let me know how it turns out ? 😀 😀 😀
I’m on for it – see you all there !
M11 sighting confirmed by a Mr and Mrs Robbo this afternoon.
Not sure what sort of lorry it was !
Dave,
Silverstone, and a number of other nearby bases, were used by the RAF as training bases for Bomber Command crews. I think they mainly used Wellingtons for training.
I’ve noticed that part of the original runway is still visible when cycling around the race circuit on charity days.
Thanks for that Andy.
I think everyone will agree that airshows have moved on – the addition of good company and conversation has made them even better.
Excellent stuff !! 😀
I can only echo the earlier comments – when I went on the Saturday, I saw a really excellent show.
I’d never seen a P39 or 6 Rapides at a show before. Just superb.
For those moaning – bear this in mind, I live 3 miles the other side of Silverstone, which had a ‘minor’ event on this weekend as well. To get in on the Grand Prix race day, and get a stand seat, now costs £150 – £200.
I don’t think some people appreciate how lucky we are with Legends !
Beautiful photos !!
Marvellous !
Thanks for sharing this Neil – wish I’d been there.
I’d echo the above – a cracking line up and I’m really looking forward to next weekend.
I’ve never seen a Sea Fury in the air, so that’s going to be fantastic !
Happy Birthday Mike !!
Keep on taking those excellent photos.
Best wishes,
Andrew
I don’t care when it arrives – I’ve never seen a P39, either static or in the air, so I’ll be delighted whenever it arrives at Duxford.
Well done TFC !
Thanks for the update.
I’ll leave my next trip until they’ve sorted the hangar out.
I’d recommend the hangar tour highly to anyone who hasn’t been to the BBMF yet. Marvellous to see the aircraft up close and the volunteer guides are great !
That’s a shame !
I was hoping to be there on 19th/20th June for their first open weekend.
