Snapper, I can only echo the earlier comments.
Very moving photos.
Bumping this back up to the top !
I’ll be there for 10.30 on Saturday.
Just let me know where we’re meeting up !
No, we’re just stuck at the Benny Hill level !
Now Robbo,
You know that the “Will it Fly” phrase is only to be attached to posts that relate to rusting Buccs, Lightnings with sawn off wings and other derelict paraffin burners.
Shakulton !!!!!:) 🙂

My earliest aviation memory was going to RAF Leconfield, East Yorkshire (north of Hull and Beverley) on an open day in the early 1970’s. They were using the base as a maintenance centre at the time, so when I went into one of the hangars, there was a line up of RAF Lightning fighters, all with different squadron insignia, undergoing repair.
I’ve always wished that my dad had taken a photo, but I think we were all just enjoying a cracking day out !
Please put me down for a place on the 13th as well.
Cheers,
Andrew
Weren’t we looking at meeting up at Cosford ?
(Or have I missed the boat on this one ?)
I’m quite envious – although I’ve only seen it for the last couple of years of Duxford, I will miss this aircraft at the 2004 shows.
Enjoy !!
“post pictures of Snapper snapping veterans”
Robbo – That’s just being artistic !!
Or is it a challenge for the next Flying Legends ?
A Fokker Triplane and Me109 !!
Sounds very interesting
Well, I’m definitely up for the DVD, whenever it surfaces in the UK !
Marvellous series, particularly the last episode
An excellent read – I’d recommend it highly !
Cheers,
Andrew
Thanks for responding von Perthes, but it looks like I won’t be able to make it now !
I’ll have to ‘do’ the museum at some point between Christmas and the New Year or, failing that, with the Friends of Duxford visit on 11th Feb.
Happy Christmas !
