Good to meet you at Duxford and in London.
Nice to get some first hand news about the Boomerang and Beaufort projects in Australia !
See you next time you’re over here.
Nice pics Andy – thanks for sharing !
This is a real shame.
I live in Syresham, a village next to Turweston, and get overflown by aircraft using the airfield. Compared to the noise of practice days at Silverstone, it’s nothing.
Can someone PM me with details of who I have to write to about this and I’ll say my piece ?
Excellent stuff – Looking forward to the taxi runs on Saturday 23rd October.
I think this is East Kirkby’s future – getting visiting aircraft to fly in for the day to broaden the museum’s appeal further
Sorry to hear that you’re leaving us James.
Have you considered donating your car to the Science Museum ? – they might be interested !
See you on Sunday
That’s very generous of you Mike !
Count me in for a beer after the show at DX
Happy Birthday mate – keep on morris dancing
Best wishes,
Andrew
Where do you begin ?
I’d echo the earlier comments about the friendships that have grown from this forum which struck me when I went to the recent Biggin Hill airshow – it was the first airshow that I’ve been to this year where I didn’t meet anyone that I knew. (Last minute decision to go and arrived late, so that’s probably my fault).
Other things that stay with me:
Legends (of course), Old Warden (superb as always) and Chailey (just excellent). East Kirkby – day and night taxi runs by Just Jane. Visits to museums at Hendon (a few times) Elvington and Yeovilton.
Meeting our resident American – Mr Patterson
Negotiating the main spar inside Just Jane with Kev – marvellous (thanks again Rob).
Watching the camera ‘arms race’ developing from the sidelines. :diablo:
Yes, it’s all CGI.
It’s the first film to be made without any ‘location’ shooting. All done in the studio.
Looks rubbish on the trailers I’ve seen
Nice photos Neil.
Looking forward to the Night Taxi run in late October already !!
Have a good time – look forward to seeing the entertaining photos that Steve will doubtless be posting shortly
Wow – marvellous photos
Superb photos.
I’d totally agree with your comments. I thought that the show was great, but I was also disappointed that after they got 8 Spits and 2 Hurricanes up in a mass takeoff, they only did two circuits before landing.
Ray Hanna’s display was marvellous at the end (but I’m sure that’s no surprise to anyone reading this !)
Thanks for that guys (and thanks to Damien B for the tip on where to stand !).
I thought that the Sea Fury was great – a very handsome looking aircraft and well displayed. After all the engine problems, I’m really pleased to see that it’s back on the airshow circuit again.
