Surprised the Dornier seat didn’t go for more
Some familiar faces in amongst the team recovering the Spitfire…
Better warn people not to talk about B17’s either then, 2 threads tut tut
Best of luck, I can’t seem to find it on the search function but I remember your previous hard work and enthusiasm for ‘Elsie’. I have donated and hopefully it will prove a successful operation this time around.
Good to see the Lizzie inching closer flight.
Lovely Lizzie! Sorry to sound daft, but is this an airworthy re-build? I must have missed this one.
A Battle would be fantastic. Is there any possibility of one in the future?
Unless the situation has changed but I was told there is a Battle being restored to flight in the UK.
Twenty plus speculative posts………………..why not just wait ?
Is that not what a forum is for? Creating a discussion?
There is a picture of that wing spar on the pictures of Spitfire BP917,s wreckage, shot down on the 16th May 1944. It looks the same to me , but who knows.
I don’t think it’s BP917 as in the mission statement of the recovery it says the pilot survived.
How long can this go on?
Awful news, blue skies Mary.
A bitter blow to lose him so soon after Tom Neil. Both authors and men I greatly admired. ‘First Light’ in particular has had a lasting impact on me. Blue Skies sir
A couple of clips from another Chinese movie. Pretty sure it’s not the one with Bruce Willis. Excellent CG. Certainly puts “Pearl Harbor” to shame……Not that that’s hard to do.
Have they superimposed aircraft over Battle of Britain footage and that bail out at the end looks awfully familiar?
Is EE602 still for sale?
Still listed on the Air Leasing website along with the latest Buchon
That is disappointing if there have been disparaging remarks from TPM about Mosquito Pathfinder Trust. Both groups have the same ultimate aim and ultimately share the same major problem, finance. Both are currently far short of the seven figures it will take to produce/purchase an airworthy airframe, never mind the subsequent running costs. If the Mosquito Pathfinder Trust go ahead with the purchase of the T.43 I assume there will be no need for the wing jigs as they are already fitted to the fuselage.
I do hope that both projects prove successful as a Mosquito is long overdue on the UK scene.
