Back to flying condition? I love it!:D Everyone seems to think it’s ugly, but I like it! Shame the last flying one is still stuck on the other side of the pond? Anyone have an update on that? Mark, do you have any cockpit pictures of this one? How’s it general condition? Do you have spare engines and other parts?

For the Shack’ it was £200, but then the asking price was known.

Yeah, what happened to that project? Haven’t heard about it in ages!

I’m pretty sure that it was the same airframe split up for transportation.
Talking of Convair heavies, be interesting to know how the even more ambitous XC-99 resto is going?

    Still moving parts I think

basically there’s not much there for a restoration. A collection of parts only good as use for pattern cleverly fastened to a metal frame to make it look more complete.

Forget it? How could we. What a farce.

The aircraft stopped on the French side of the Channel as “James wasn’t night rated” despite the fact that P1 of the aircraft, the instructor in the right hand seat (never to appear on screen), was fully night rated and they could have been home in the UK a full day ahead of Clarkson.

But that wouldn’t have ‘entertained’ the Jeremy fans.

    Moggy

Yeah, but then it wouldn’t be James racing, would it? I like Top Gear, been waiting for the new series for months. It’s the only thing on TV I stay at home for (Mind you that I’m a Belgian, so BBC is a foreign channel for me!)

We need to get him to DX! With 3 B-17’s, I’m sure someone can arrange something with one of the 3?

I saw that one on Ebay. If I would’ve lived in the UK, I would’ve bought her. Good luck with the parts finding 🙂

    Me too

When i get mine and as long as its in a decent state i will come

Its more of a social thing, like mided people sharing views etc

I dont think a prize should come into it there all great examples and people who go just for the prize shouldnt win beacuse its not about that

Im sure merkle would bring 887 no matter what

    668

    My thoughts exactly;)

Well, If I ever get a cockpit you can be sure I’ll do my best to attend. Don’t need no prize either!

It’s indeed been a while since I’ve seen him post. I hope he’s doing ok.
