since when did Turkmenistan acquire the M-346 or the C-27?
couldn’t find any news about it.it is also odd since Turkmenistan is more likely to go for the Yak-130
They have not.. This was a Leonardo organized demonstration of their products in Turkmenistan..
This one?

Nice Find. I haven’t even heard of them using this. It is an Aztec as a person who has flown one. It’s also a Piper Tomahawk in the background.

That’s not what the professionals say.
The 35 has regularly been proven a deadly opponent for any defender during excercises. This includes he mighty 15 that to this day owns the record roster in A2A. And all this while pursuing their assigned mission: DEAD, Srike or even CAS with a slimmed down support fleet. So, yes, the 35 is in a class of it’s own.
You can spare me this cheap rant about class of its own.. I’ve been listening to this crap for years and became virtually immune..
For every American professional I can give you three French, Chinese and Russian ones claiming exactly the opposite..
I would not say the F-35 is better than the F-16 — I would say it is much, much better than the F-16, both for ground and also for air superiority.
This is mainly due to a combination of: stealth, huge improvements in sensors, sensor fusion, and HMI.
IMHO the gap between, say, the F-35 and Typhoon is bigger than the gap between Typhoon and F-16 also for the air roles.
Hold your horses!! first we have to ask: which F-16? I’d say that the gap in capabilities between F-16V Block 70 and F-16A Block 10 is far greater than the gap between F-35A and F-16V, both in terms of sensors and HMI.. partially even RCS and fusion..
An AESA equipped Rafale F3R with a pair of Meteors is a better A-A performer than an AMRAAM equipped F-35A, methinks.. Of course, we can argue about that to death without any meaningful outcome..
Su-30SM attacking decomissioned Petya-class frigate.. No idea of AShM used, most likely Kh-31A/AD?
Is this Libyan roundel still used ? :
I must admit I lost track of the libian roundels. Greg came up with this one in this topic:
https://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?119197-WORLD-AIR-FORCE-ROUNDELS&p=2433921#post2433921Maybe that is the latest. It’s confusing!!
Actually it’s not that confusing.. This is the roundel of LDAF (Libya Dawn Air Force), a pro-GNC force opposing the officially elected “Tobruk government”, which is using the LNA AF (Libya National Army Air Force).
Please stop posting ****nik as actual news.
You don’t have a saying here on what’s credible and what’s not..
I don’t think it’s Cheetah C rather than twin-seat Mirage 2000B, D or N..
Pretty cool YA-9A… I mean, Su-25 pictures.
I completely fail to see what these two have in common.. visually they are not even similar to each other..
MiG-31BM carrying Kh-47M2 missile.. I have read the BMs adapted to carry the Kinzhal should get a special designation..

I could understand if the P-8 hardware, suite and sensors were taken out and installed into an Airbus A320.. but why should Germany and France settle for B737 based airframes is beyond me..
On Zvezda today they showed fragments from the F-117 that was shot down over Serbia, and spoke about the analysis of the RAM they did back then and so on and so forth. First time I see it properly confirmed that parts of the wreckage were sent abroad (though it has been strongly implied before, and pretty much a no-brainer anyway)
Lots of talk about RCS studies in general, in that programme, with lots of models shown. Obviously nothing high-tech, as that is surely classified, but still.
RAM in itself is no big deal.. in the last two decades it has been commercialized beyond recognition.. the principles are well known, producers and vendors are in abundance even outside of the US, it’s quite easy to have your RAM tuned to the specific frequency band in question.. now it’s all about application, know-how and cost rather than about sheer availability..

What you really need is to spin off Flanker altogether. Your contemporary opponents have the answers to an MKI.
As much as the IAF has put into Flanker, it’s a big, fat, juicy modern day target for Pakistani AMRAAM and Chinese HQ’s. And J-20 would eat it alive in practice, theory, and every situation in between.
IAF is facing a rather critical shortage of airframes and you are suggesting getting rid of the mainstay of their air force? And what exactly should they get, instead? 270 F-35s for $30000000 billion?
