Very nice! What camera / lens do you use?

You should edit the first photo (crew in front of B-17) in photoshop to a black & white / brownish picture. This gives the idea of the picture being taken during the Second World War 😉

The tigercat picture is a bit dark. Try playing with the levels.

But all in all, nice pictures.

I wouldn’t go for Minolta until there is more news for Sony (as you might know, Sony took over Minolta’s camera branch).

For a price below 300 pounds, a DSLR is out of the question. Futhermore, you might want to consider not buying on the internet but at your local camera shop. You might have to go through a lot of trouble if your camera is broken in the guarantee period if you buy it on the internet. That besides the package & posting costs.

Has it never occured to you that we might be the cause for this terrorism?

Are you telling me that terrorism only started in 2003 when the United States and its supporting allies took out Saddam’s Hussein’s evil regime?

I’m pretty sure that terrorism has existed for centuries, and the recent Islamic terrorist issue has existed since 1948 when Israel was formed.

They missed your point because it makes too much sense. Clearly the only option in the world nowadays is to talk out our problems. Afterall, when you tell Bin Laden that you just want to talk….he will listen……… didn’t you know that? He is always ready for negotiation……he is a kind and sensitive soul who is only bombing people for the good of the Muslim cause…….

In the 1980s a Mujhadeen warrior named Osama Bin Laden was supported by the United States to fight against the Sovjets in Afghanhistan. They even gave him Stinger missiles to shoot down the Sovjets’ feared helicopters.

Before 1978, Iran was supported by the United States, resulting in a load of Western weapons delivered to this country, including F-14 Tomcats.

In the 1980s, when the Shah (sp?) had taken over Iran, the United States supported the newly dictator of Iraq, namely Saddam Hussein with weapons, intelligence and even chemical weapons, so that they could be used against Iran in the Iraq-Iran war.

Iran, Iraq and Osama Bin Laden were once allies with the United States, but are now (or were) their feared enemy. Maybe if the United States wouldn’t have intervened in these countries, it wouldn’t be in such a trouble as it is today.

Both Pakistan and Saudi-Arabia have a government / king that is pro-Western, but most of the citizens are the opposite and Islamitic fundementalism is really present. The reason why both governments exist is the support they get from the United States. In ten years, these governments will be toppled and Islamitic fundementalists wil have the power in these countries. Another two enemies for the United States.

So I guess the portion of the Iraqi population that is glad Saddam is gone doesn’t matter? The portion that danced in the streets when Zarqawi was killed? The portion that tore down the Saddam statue back in 2003 and those that are glad he is gone….

None of their opinions matter? I’m seeing a double edged sword here……

How many of these people are actually that happy in their daily lives? Since the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein ended, violence only increased in the city streets in Iraq. And now, after almost 3.5 years, the occupation still continues, violence has only increased and the country is on the brink of civil war.

So how would you propose to end the reign of terrorism both against the Iraqi people and against those worldwide? Perhaps we can talk to them and reason with them? is that the course of action you would prefer to take?

By cutting off there supply of young men and women that are willing to blow themselves up for the good of the ’cause’. If public support in these countries is gone, the terrorists don’t have a base to operate from. That’s what happened with the ETA (spain), IRA (Northern-Ireland) and the RAF (Germany).

Do your countrymen who fought the Nazis agree with that?

Without a bit of violence, on the part of your countrymen and the allies who fought (and died) to liberate your country, I doubt if you’d be free to make such a statement today.

What do you think did happen when a Nazi was killed in a Dutch village? The Germans would lift 10 people out of their houses and shoot them.

And what happened when the Germans bombed London in 1940? The British flew back to Berlin and bombed it on their turn as well as Hamburg, Dresden Munchen etc…

So even in the Second World War, violence only resulted in more violence.

Terrorists don’t listen to reason, they don’t understand anything but a bullet to the brain. Nothing will ever stop terrorism so I don’t understand why anyone thinks that is possible. There will always be nuts around like Zarqawi and Bin Laden….it’s just a fact of life nowadays. The only thing we can do is to try and reduce the number of successful attacks…..which is precisely the goal of counterintelligence operatives and operations like Enduring Freeom. Rooting out these people, killing as many of them as possible, and stopping the ones who are still alive from comitting any successful attacks is the order of the day.

If anyone thinks they have a better way to stop terrorism please let me know……

And were does this strong devotion to kill the West comes from? Has it never occured to you that we might be the cause for this terrorism? We intervene in countries while screaming ‘democracy’ and ‘liberty’, but you cannot impose those things on people. It has to come from these people themselves.

Do you think the Iraqi people are more safe now then they were under Saddam Hussein? There was at least peace in Iraq under his rule. Iraq is currently on the edge of a civil war and is also occupated by a foreign country who has its own agenda.

The best treatment against terrorists is a couple of MK-82´s, this is a great day.

and kill one terrorist today, so that 10 new terrorists will exists tomorrow. This is precisely what the United States doesn’t seem to understand. Violence doesn’t solve violence.

To answer my own question, which may help anyone else: I bought a Vosonic VP2160. It’s a very simple tool. Only two buttons are present: power on/off and copy. IF you insert a card (16-in-1 card reader) and press copy, it makes a new directory and duplicates the card to that directory. So any files (not only pictures) will be copied. And with a weight of 230 grams its very light. I bought it for a mere 144 euros.
