That is a great little film, and captures the atmosphere very well.
I had a lovely day there, probably enjoyed it more than something like the RIAT. The event had a laid-back and charming garden-party feel to it.
As the sky got blacker and blacker, I chickened out and fled back to Chesham since my car has no roof ( or windscreen) and the rain drops really hurt at 40 mph !
The downside of the display is it probably cost the charity about £5,000 in lost revenue, since charity rides ceased at 12.45 and did not resume until 3.15.
To a degree, this was an enforced break, as the Royal Flypast would shut the airspace regardless of the club’s wishes.
PV202 was even more ‘uncomfortable’ on a trip to the continent not too long ago, and that flew home 48 hours later !
Keep the Faith !
Taking a positive view, in each incident the prop is a bit less shredded than the occasion before !
A bit of a long way round, but G-INFO lists all the Hornet’s and you can delve into their previous owners.
Just click on one, and follow the links ie Full registration history
Event scrubbed today, due to weather. 🙁
What a shame.
It will rise again, of course, like his insurance premium ( and probably every other Spitfire operator )
I wonder if it looks like this, or maybe this…:(
THIS gives a fair idea of what Halton is like right now.
Flypast, in the loosest possible interpretation, more like ‘Same way, same day ‘ !
I hope it was tighter over London. BBMF did us proud though, with three passes !
Still, a really lovely event, great atmosphere and lyrical curving displays by the Vacher Hurricane (Stu Goldsmith) and Cliff Spink in his own Spit.
The right crowd, and no crowding !
And your post has added nothing relevant to debate.
There is nothing left to say, because the subject has been exhausted in the mass debates which have already littered this forum.
Christ, now look what you’ve made me write !
It may be a word, it may not..
”Step Away From The Dictionary !”
For crying out loud, just how many more times do we have to bumble down this historical and philosophical cul-de-sac ?
There must have been 617 threads on this stupid non-story, each one more tedious than the one before. There are essentially only two views on the proposition, and both perspectives have been utterly exhausted, thrashed to death, put to bed, exhumed, re-examined, and dragged round the block again.
In all that huffing and puffing, nobody has made a single interesting point, because there is NOTHING interesting left to say.
Take an umbrella.
Sit under the umbrella.
Lots of fun diving through the huge high tension wires beside the runway.
The estate agents also forgot to include the M3 motorway RIGHT BESIDE the runway.
Hideaway rural idyll it aint !

The seven ship was a good effort.
Nice little air-to-air clip here
Any fuel, perchance, or shall I thermal home ? 😉
Nearly 20 years on it looks as good as I remember waddling along the apron before climbing aboard! 😀
Yeah, and you try telling people that there WERE fat kids twenty years ago, it’s like they’ve forgotten..
