Actually, that has just got me thinking;-
I wonder if it is good to fly old planes like the ‘109’, or if it is better that rare ones stay on the ground….

This is probably a paralell case to the Tiger Moths which operate on PFA permits, due to the fact that they were assembled from ‘new’, previously unused components, and thus had no pre-existing identity, such as G-PBAJ. Unlike the warbird scenario, provenance/data plates do not seem bump up the prices and so it is not generally worth acquiring such an identity.

‘Wise Heads’ will tell you that these are not real Tigers, Austers, or whatever, whilst infact they are just as original as many of the restored historics, which have also been rebuilt around mainly non-original components, but of course this is a hoary old debate which has thrashed out ad nauseum.

From the point of view of the owner, the PFA Permit is a real plus, as it allows one to do much more of the maintenance, and save a packet.

Brimpton, next to Aldermaston, is a (well-spent) fiver, one of only two licensed fields in Berkshire.

It has a farm strippy feel, but is big enough for the resident Provosts.

Thanks for the robust warning about down-loading or copying your ‘classic’ photograph, though frankly, I doubt if anyone will be troubling you for a copy.
Perhaps you have one where the subject is in focus?

If only we could return to a pre-internet era, when copyright could be rigourously observed and maximum payment extracted on threat of prosecution. What a shame that the cat is well and truly out of the bag, and so much material is in the public domain. But for better or for worse, it is here to stay. By the way, its better.

Thankfully, there are numerous contributors to this forum who are more interested in the free exchange of information and images than pursuing monetary gain, and make their contributions here free of caveats, including those whose livlihoods depend on successfully marketing their work in other, genuinely commercial arenas.

What qualifies as an ‘intelligent’ message?????

Some of us were thwarted by low cloud on the Chiltern ridge, which obscured the top of the mast at Stokenchurch (M40 Cutting).

The Tiger (G-ANFM) and others seemed to have made it, but others, including a Stampe and a Zlin returned to White Waltham. To the south, you could see 50 miles!

I wonder how long it has been since a Hurricane flew in Italian airspace?

Peter Andre and Jordan- Dubbed ‘ Dosh and Pecs’ by the good old British tabloids!

Got to mention John Prescott, useless, ineffective, arrogant, beliggerant, promoted far, far beyond his abilities. A real idiot.

When TB is away, is Prescott ( deputy PM) really in charge? Can he get his thumb on the Nuclear Button??

The BBC news just had a piece on the gathering at Northolt today, with a Hurricane and a couple of Spits visible, including the green TR.IX.

Cliff Spink was interviewed, as was Alex Henshaw, who at 93 is absolutely bright as a button – a quite astonishing individual.

Today’s event is reputed to be the last ‘Hurrah’ for the B o B veterans.

This Neptune has been posted before, but what a shot. And it is not landing, either!

I know we have had plenty of Oman Jags, but I do not recall this one.

Shamelessly pinched from PPRUNE- shot with a 50mm lens apparently!
The pilot wanted the photo taken out of circulation before his CO saw it.

Now £1.28 at White Waltham (inc VAT)

West London Aero Club now charges a £10 fuel surcharge on top of the Hire Rates, thus making an hours training in a Warrior £176. Their Cub is only £165, though.
