Janie, a few pics as requested;-sorry ,no flying shots.
There is a huge thread about the TSR2 on PPRuNe at the moment, in Military Aircrew.
Nice shots Maarvin, interesting that you have nearly stopped the rotors in most of the pics. I was shooting with a Canon D-60, and even down at 125th second and was still getting that effect. Is yours an Image Stabilising lens?
I did indeed! Once I have the means to extract the pics from the camera I will post a few here, if they are any good.
I thought the lens was just pretty averaged sized, to be honest, but I guess this isn’t the place for psycho-analysis!
Thanks for the info, guys. Glad he got back OK.
There is a D120 share at Oaksey Park (Cirencester), see PFA mag May. Suggest a post on PFA B-Board.
I was at Abingdon, and did not see anything particularly alarming. The dodgiest departure I saw was from the inside of the cockpit, with all the controls hard to the right, and the gusting crosswind nearly getting the upper hand. Still, it was a nice tailwind on the way home!
Hmmm. A head-on shot, so we can’t really see the colour scheme. Not another Dulux Disaster, I hope.
It looks great from the front, the builder(s) must be very proud.
I got a reply to my e-mail, from Mike Crutch (yes, really…..), the crux of which is that your the landing fee takes the form of a £30 charity donation. It also includes admission to the hovercraft museum.
This is my housekeeper’s goldfish, called Stan. He does not do much, but he has a great personality.

Thanks Janie, yeah had a good couple of weekends this month. The camera is pretty easy to use, if you can cope with the weight of a 35-350 lens, but camera shake is a problem at the longest focal length. The pundits suggest an Image Stabilsing lens is the one to get, but they seem to be the thick end of £1000.00 for a really good zoom. I may need to myself get a longer paper-round.
Just for you, a DHC-1. And a Colt/Pacer for Moggy.
Neil,
Yupp, got it all thanks. Perhaps sometimes humour can be TOO dry!
I’ll try to squeeze the old Cub in somehow, but its good to know there is a hole in the hedge if I need to shoot through.
Jolly good show. There is a Rearwin advertised in the PFA mag. It is a 175 of 1940 vintage. Has it much in common with yours, Melvyn, apart from being red (ish)? Obviously it has an inline engine, but is very cheap at £15K, whereas I seem to remember you saying yours had cost….well, rather more!
I am booked in to be there with TUM to join the other Cubs (photo 2004- D. Burke) but remain concerned about the runway length, as some visitors have had trouble in the past.
