In general the 777 is super reliable. Especially the RR powered ones.
the GE engines are prone to problems. so much so most airlines are switching to RRs
UA are the only operator (that I know of) of P&W powered 777s and from what I’m told they have endless problems too.
Its the engines, not the aircraft Mark
RR engines are the pigs. United is not having trouble with their engines! They are running out of engines due to time. They have engines stripped off everything in the desert and everything in maintenance to keep the fleet going because they are bankrupt and don’t want to spend the cash to make the books look better so they can get the goverment loan! Don’t get me going on RR! I still remember the RB-211. I can not go into details but Airbus said that P&W was their best engine supplyer!
Nasir: continueing our conversation. Where can you get a template to do a RV-7? Is it possible to get one. how do you do it?
Greekdude. I hope they don’t build to much around there. Have you been to Norton AFB since it closed? Norton was run down when I was there. I was ferrying planes for a aircraft dealership from Compton, CA to Indiana but had to quit because I was going to get killed If I kept it up. I was going to stop by Chino and Norton but didn’t have time. I did stop at Victorville often where there are alot of United planes. I like flying out that way in the desert lots of fun. I really like chasing trains. Also there are old oil industry landing strips out there. Just to the west of victorville is an old guy that has a rather large salvage yard full of military aircraft and civil stuff. The best part was I would fly home at only about 200 feet with the window open so I could see everything
Are there still fields around Chino? I loved it there! Please don’t tell me they are all gone! We used to eat at Flo’s on the field and practice hovering out by the runways. We used the M.A.S.H. helicopters used in the series for flight training. Ray Stitts (Polly fibre) was in my class.
Greekdude! Are you really located in Chino? I used to fly the Bell 47’s there in the 80’s when the place was called Reid’s Helicopters. I think it is called Hemlock Helicopters now. Is it still there? Have you seen the Helicopters? My wife flew in the Army and hasn’t flew since. I’m trying to get her intereseted again. Thanks
Nasir! how do you do that? Could you help me with the design of the paint job of my RV-7?
Tell e’m steve! The best of the lot ( Diana) died in France. Into the rubbish can with the rest

I wouldn’t worry about it Whisky Delta. Great Photos? Is the A-7 in Toledo? Where was the F-100?
That’s what I’m constantly talking about! Airlines are shipping maintenance work to Asia and this is the resultant!
Yea that’s it! BOrin,g Boring, Boring, Even mindless violence is boring today. Wacks neil in the head with a cricket bat.

Thank You for the kind words Hamtech. United has taken about everything from my friends and I and now they are working on our pension. I would go crazy if it wasn’t for the RV-7 in my basement. I was 23 when Eastern airlines went out of bussiness. It was really sad. Pilots and mechanics working very menial jobs so they wouln’t lose their houses and selling personal items very dear at fire sales prices just to pay the bills. Executives who put the airline in the toilet reap million dollar bounses. Where is the justice? Being in the same situation, I’m getting just as bitter and hardend as they were.
If you spend enough time in the airlines you get that way! you should try it!
UNITED AIRLINES DC-8 CRASH AT DENVER
This fatal United Airlines crash occurred within six months of the airlines’ DC-8 crash into New York City, and it was a continuation of 30 years of senseless crashes at this airline associated with a documented pattern of arrogance, air safety and criminal violations. United Airlines and FAA personnel knew the problems resulting in the crashes, and vigorously fought to continue the money saving and self serving culture that inflicted horrendous pain and suffering upon victims of this corrupt environment.
Well Greek dude! tell me how great United is again? Time has moved on but the corporate culture is the same.
