Visiting the US
There are all sorts of Museum gems all around however depending on your length of stay and distance willing to travel hard to say exactly where to go. However if you are going to Michigan and Oshkosh area then I agree check out the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo as well from Michigan truck over to Ohio and go to the Huge!!!!! Air force museum at Dayton. If you were crossing the border i would suggest the Canadian Warplane Heritage hangar in Hamilton Ontario and from there it would only be 2.5 hours to the Halifax at the RCAF Museum in Belleville however not sure if this will be open to the public yet.

Thanks

Spitfire bits
Unfortunately my parts book is at the Hangar however if the 30908 is Spitfire it comes from the wing as the 08 meant a wing piece. However I am not familiar with a type 309 spitfire for drawings. Best of luck

Rudder pedals
If you check out the following site http://www.spitfirespares.com in the controls part he shows a very similar set and he states they are from a Handly Page Hastings.

Canopy Identification
I have to admit it does look alot like the canopy we recieved with our Spitfire Project. Would it be possible to see a picture of it from the side and from the top. Also if you look closely at the two metal strips are there any numbers stamped on it.

Airworthy Vampire
The Comox Air Force Museum has one single seat Vampire that flew into CFB Comox when the Museum accepted it. They have over the years continued to run the engine and taxi the aircraft to maintain it. As a matter of fact they had an engine run and taxi test 2 weeks ago. And before anybody asks i was not there to take pictures. Maybe next time. It was always the intention of the group that maintains it to fly it again unfortunately it always comes down to money which is in short supply. Who know some day it may be back in the air.

Comox Air Force Museum
Personally my big thing would be British/Spitfire stuff as that is what I am working on. However whenever you decide you have an electronic list that is emailable I would like to get one.

Pulley Help
Thanks for the Info I did not think about Light Aero because their catologue did not show the pulley guards. However considering the post about interchangability they may not be suitable. Anyway thanks for the info and if anybody has more info or parts please contact me.

When was the first picture taken. I ask because the picture shown is not from inside the Canadian Warplane Heritage . When i saw her last 2 years ago she was standing in front of a Diorama showing a typical RAF field in the UK during WW2. Also my picture of her from two years ago shows a Cannon sticking out of the wing not empty holes as this one shows. As well the CWH’s hanagar is not as dark looking inside as the picture shows.
Spitfire Picture
Now if you’d only widened the shot you would have had the Mosquito in the Picture as well.
