Superb stuff Adam! Hope i’m not on BNLD tomorrow ๐
on the bus on the way back, it was doing what sounded like full power engine runs in the engine bay, so i’m guessing its fixed. lol

can see the pilot person!
probably one of my favourite of the day

on the bus to the terminals – hence quality
the car parks! –

more to come, gimme a mo or two ๐
i’m gonna go against the flow and say she doesnt look bad. something about it makes it looks ‘cool’. perhaps its the unpainted shiny metal at both ends. when (if) she’s painted, it’ll probably look a lot worse and no longer ‘cool’.
I couldn’t get any closer for the first one- the starboard wingtip just missed me!
Some of you guys should come over to Sรคve to take photos, the public road is about 50 yards from the north end of the runway and the 2-strand fence is only 3 feet high! Just right for a quick day out from Stansted or Prestwick, although there are not many movements.
if only we photographers had 3ft high fences at UK airports. no more ladders or poking the camera through the fence!
One I missed, not the best image ever but it kind of shows where the cheat lines etc follow :D.

now that is a great shot. just the sort of thing im looking for – close ups of the wing and engine.
thanks
lovely stuff so far, thanks P L.
the closer and larger the aircraft in the shot, the better – the more detail that i can see, the better.
thanks
I’m up for it!
Brilliant shots Adam, looks like you were placed just a short distance away from where I were when I went down, I was sat in the bus stop under the approach for 27R!
Hopefully will get mine on soon, very busy at the mo!
thanks. lol, I saw said bus stop and it reminded me of your visit. lol
What a way to end. LMAO. sorry, but you can’t help laughing.
time to change the signature me thinks….
on a more serious note, i hope that airliners.net and jp.net are more secure than this. imagine the loss if one of those suddenly crawled up the curtain.

stunning shots, Tom. love the EK and ‘Pretty Woman’ shots.
You didnt snap any Ryrs from below by any chance did you? Would like to see them if you did.
๐
thanks
Just thought i’d chuck this photo into the pile. Its not a very good photo at all, but i was amazed at what it shows. taken from one of the car parks looking towards the maintenance base – in the distance can be seen the London skyline. Visible is the ‘Gherkin’, ‘Tower 42’, the London Eye, very possibly Big Ben (would be around the Eye), and just poking out of the bmi hangar, Canary Wharf and the Docklands. Thats a good 20 miles from the airport. I was rather impressed.

thanks
To be honest with you there really is no point doing what you want to do – with FS 2004, that is.
The new version is coming out sometime Christmas/New Year. So, i suggest building your new computer for ‘Flight Simulator X’ as it is called – release is expected soon (‘soon’ being in time for Christmas).
If you want to go further, also think about building the computer to use Microsofts new operating system – Windows Vista, which i think is also planned as a Xmas/New Year release – Vista is supposed to provide even more of an experience for ‘FSX’.
the hardware you i think you will be looking for is an ‘AMD’ processor – not Intel – as AMD processors handle games better (and as a bonus, AMD have dramatically reduced the retail prices of their processors – you can get some incredible hardware from AMD for under ยฃ100), atleast 1 GB RAM (some sources on the internet are suggesting 2GB will be needed for Vista).
Look for a processor such as the ‘AMD 64 3800+ 940 pin’. for under ยฃ100 you can have a powerful processor, such as that one. If you want to spend more, have a look at AMD dual core processors, but im not sure if they are really worth the extra expense – right now, that is. See, i think that in order for dual core processors to really show off, they need to be used with applications and software that is designed to utilise effectively two processors, and those sort of programmes just arent around yet, but Im not 100% sure on that.
As for graphics cards, the Nvidia Geforce 7 series is impressive, but expensive. i’m not too sure about adding multiple monitors – i know it can be done, but dont know how. I think some members on here have such things and may be able to help.
don’t take what i have written to be all the advice you need – do a little research, ask around, and it may be worth waiting a while for FSX and Vista.
As for adding aircraft and installing scenery add-ons, we can all do that. for UK airports, have a look at Gary Summons ‘UK2000 scenery’ series – covers all the airports and most, if not all, active airfields in the UK. the original series is quite old, but Gary is working on replacing his old sceneries of the main airports – so far, he has done Gatwick and Glasgow – he is working on Stansted now. Very impressive sceneries.
Check out the wonderful freeware addon aircraft and scenery available from the internet – one of the things that make flight sim what it is – we’re very lucky to have people that are willing to spend time providing us simmers with quality addons that are free.
i hope that helps, happy simming! ๐
thank you for the comments guys! much appreciated ๐
