    thanks guys

i solved the problems a while ago by doing a clean install of FS9 and all of the add ons. FS9 has been problem-free since

your system is not at the ‘lower end’ of the spectrum. that is a perfectly capable machine for FS9, so don’t worry about your machine not being powerful enough – although your machine won’t provide ‘top’ performance.

make sure that the onboard graphics chip is properly disabled – im not sure how to do it – probably done in the BIOS.

as others have said, im sorry if that tries to teach you to suck eggs –
    thats all i can offer.

if you’re willing, try an FS9 reinstall – that sorted all my problems out. also, check in the FS read me blurb that there isn’t a compatability problem with FS and your card. also, see if downloading the FS9 microsoft update from their website does anything – its a large file though.

    hope that helps

I’m guessing you don’t have the right hardware for the software to run properly

what do you mean not having the right hardware? my computer meets the minimum spec. i don’t have broadband, but if i did i would dwnload the game update from the microsoft website – its a huge file – (for a dial-upper) and when i get boradband, i’ll download it to see if it solves the problem.

a trip to the justflight support website solved the VFR photo scenery installation problem.

    thanks for the help

I have around 15 mins max recording from the thunderstorm, although not from one single continuous video recording. i have recordings from other windows around the house. (i said around 30 mins, but hadn’t actually roughly added up the total duration of all the footage, and i also have 120 useless images showing nothing interesting, which i took simply by pressing the shutter button continuously until i got bored. i then hit on the idea of recording the storm by video).

When i recorded the bit in question, i wasn’t holding the camera perfectly steady, because i find it had to do so, and my hand was resting against the window frame – which wasn’t very comfortable. as i was recording i thought i saw something red around the area of the tree.

When i viewed the footage on the pc later on, it simply confirmed what i thought i had seen.

To try and show that it was not through a closed window, my window has ‘Tudor style lead lattice work’ across it, and if the window was closed, the picture below shows roughly what i would have got – complete with horse.

When i have broadband, i will upload the recordings somewhere, complete with sound, and I’ll post when i have on there.
