Probably a bit too late. But happy birthday from me too.
In first place, something called Prima Air a local airline over here, using two Saab340 and flying domestic destinations from SCQ. Then, British Caledonian, with the distinctive colours and the BAC1-11. Being a child, it was the first I airline I flew to the UK. I miss ERA (European Regions Airlines) in Spain which I work for. And aof course Aviaco, a Spanish domestic airline with a bad reputation but a great cabin service. They use to fly the destinations Iberia didn´t want. Iberia….I wouldn´t miss then at all.
Hi Kabir, Ren, Steve nice to hear from you again too.
Yes, I am back. Too much working, working is not good 🙂
I don´t need to say, that they are all mine.
Well yes. Last june. But wasn´t particularly frightening, since I know, it normally doesn´t cause crashes. It was a pre cruise flight from Madrid to Venice on a Iberworld A320. A short time before landing the pilot announced that a thunderstorm was forming over the airport of Venice, and we expected some turbulences and even lightening, but everything was under control.
The storm hadn´t broken out but we had to cross cumulus nimbus….no drammatical turbulences but some lightening around. Then a big bang on the left wing, a sudden bounce, flash into the cabin, some cries…and normal landing. Too quick to worry, but with a silence among the cruisers. As we parked the storm began….and planes were still approaching. Poor things¡
Again last august. In Havana again on an Iberworld A330 to Madrid. Tropical storms are not nice. So over the runway we have a huge storm. I was taking off in the cockpit (in the jump seat), and the pilot told he would avoid it, if it was when taking off. In take off, it moved south a bit, so we just caught a side, so we didn´t have turbulences no lightening, but some light hail on the fuselage. Strange felling though.
YESSSSSSS. Liverpool- Santiago my hometown. Already booked. I have travelled to Liverpool many times. Having to make many connections, at last I will fly non stop.
Interesting report. I find KLM as one of the safest in the skies, but dull as far as service is concerned. Durham?. I have visited it last month for the first time and it´s great
Sources are not reliable. Some indicate that there was a false fire signal, and others indicate smoke coming from the cargo compartment.

The southwest of Spain, Balearics and in general the Med. coast (specially Valencia area) is pretty common massive storms in september/october called “gota fría” as the atmosphere gets cold after the summer heat. Mahon Airport (Menorca) is particularly dangerours not only for these aspect, but for the orographic obstacules and bad visibility in winter.

Why do airlines get in weather situations like that?. I understand they operate within safety limits and no danger at any moment….but…..wooww. Passengers get scared to death. Went to the airport again, and even three approaches on another CRJ.
