    RE: Guy Fawkes

We celebrate the night of Saint John (24th June?), magical night. We make bonfires to keep witches and evil spirits away from us, have to leave an egg broken in a blown outside, and in the villages we decorate the houses doors with flowers and different plants. In a nearby beach, the pregnant women get in the water at night, and jump seven waves to keep also the bad spirits away from their babies. In the bonfires, which are organized in each neighbourhood at night (we make also sardine barbacues with other things) we have to burn old things and jump over the bonfires to have good luck. It´s supposed to have a conection with the Roman Solstice celebration, but other indications say, it´s a ancient celtic ceremonial celebration.

Of course there´s already sable rattle in the armed forces. It´s quite hard, as you point, try to rule with coram….and being moderate.

    RE: A 300 crash -AA 587

Well, I suppose it could happen like that. The A300 has proved to be a fine and safe aircraft and long tested. I think vital parts can get off if the material had previously been submitted to extreme forces. The AA A300 usually fly to the Caribbean and Central American where the state of the atmosphere might be tricky and there´re always strong storms. I go for the maintenace fault theory. I am sure any other model encountering this wake, making these manouvers would have dettatched as well.

    RE: Halloween!!

No Halloween in Spain, just a few people usually connected with US citizens. We have carnivals (before Easter) and includes all types of costumes. I believe in the supernatural (I am a catholic)so I suppose there might be a kind of paranormal experiences with souls. In any case, I suppose most of the events are fake. I made psicophonies once and it was successfull. Just to tell you, Galicia where I live the supernatural is very spred out. Having a Celtic origin and having links with the Irish and Scottish the Witches, ghosts, fairies and tales are quite common.

RE: Should we interfere in other countries affairs?

The goverments intervine, not to help the others, but for interest. Unfortunately that´s the way the world works. Sometimes we “do” consider the victims welfare, only when it suits our interests. We decided to do something with Yugoslavia. because Europe had huge amounts of interets there, we consider Kuwait for oil. But no fuss at all to prevent Tutsis-Hutus manslaughter (the biggest act of terrorist ever) because these were only “blacks” by some countries and no petrol or interests there. Indeed sometimes we are rather hypocrite. We have to accept that point. No country should dare to claim a higher degree or morality than others.

RE: Police detain 2 drunk Iberia pilots

Again it seems that is another chapter in the war pilots vsmanagement team. The pilots had been bringing the incidents to the public opinion to embarrash the board of directors. A match between these two organizations. One point….but it´s quite odd, that ID were asked for in a pub (only to them) and it seems that they could drink because it was more than 12 hours before the flight. Why did the police know they were pilots?. Ambush?. One point for the other team. And of course many pilots (I don´t want to say….all) drink. I have seem them. It´s very common the coke tin on the table and the rose wine in the cup just to cheat.

Totally agree GarryB, responsability in global problems should be shared at different rates of responsability. At the end, what I feel is that sometimes is hard to draw a line and knowing who caused this or that global problem, what to do and if intervention should be made. If we have a different pattern and treat problems in a different way, in each case we would got to the conclusion that sometimes…intervention is necessary…When?….Who knows. Global world, global problems, global responsabilities.
