    RE: New Newark Name

I suppose it depends on if the term patriotism is a virtue or a defect. Over here, and despite being also happy for being Spanish, patriotism sounds a bit to close to nationalism, and something totally negative.

Doesn´t sound nice either. When was that?. Real Ryanair flight, Flight simulator?….nightmare?. No thanks. That sounds too familiar as the regular landings in winter in my SCQ. Just a question. The man on the picture, is that you?.

    RE: Georgian bombing reports

It was a very soft and compromise reaction. It´s normal if the US attack other countries to persue the same terrorist, why Russian shouldn´t do that?. What´s not clear is that these attacks were performed by the Russians. There has been indications from BBC that Kremlin wasn´t informed of the attack, so it indicates autonomous behavoirs from the regional governors. What Georgia should do is taking more care of his own territory. It´s not new that Chechens act in Georgia as at home. In Spain we have bad experiences with them. Two Businessmen hijacked there some time ago and released when the Georgian goverment took interest in the event.

Operating costs in Easyjet are lower, so I would recommend BMI not getting in Easyjet´s backyard.

Nice pic. White colour on fuselage could be nice on small planes, but not on big ones. In any case, disliking this livery at least the coloured tails and engines give planes a bit of character.

100% per cent agree. Newark International. Liberty airport sounds terrible patriotic and unpropiate. Why should we be mixing everything up?.

    RE: I was just wondering.

Teorically it has lot of power, but I suppose the lobbies impose in a way many decissions. On the other way, there´s something which happens in the US more than in other parts of the world. The decissions lie, in an indirect way, on the people. American presidents usually do what polls what them to do.

I hate all take offs in all types of planes. But bad weather and lack of visibility is always a reason for major concern. Visibility a shabby plane and Katmandu Airport is a bad combination. I am not sure if it was a HS748 or a Naycs.

    RE: Flight’s to Holguin, Cuba

Aerogaviota belongs to Cubana and operates at tourist charter base. Only paid in US dollars and at high prices for locals. And for Mongu, if you want to fly to Cuba, Iberia is the number one for conections to South America for obvious reasons. Being a member of Oneworld and due to BA code shares, it would be a perfect option for UK (or Isle of Man :-))passengers. In Europe, we also keep the highest number or charter links with Cuba as the first tourist providers to the island. So flying Iberworld A330 or Air Plus A310 would be great. Air Europa also has a schedule link to the island. Cubana flies the AOM DC-10, but NO WAY: My girlfriend also has an inclination for “evil” countries, and would love a North Korean adventure, but I am affraid, next time Iran will the chosen destiny. I still have my doubts about flying into Iran. I am hoping their purchasing brand new A320 for internal flights.

Nice pics indeed. I wish I were there. Perhaps next time.

I remember my flights from Varanasi into Katmandu airport, originally with Indian Airlines and then on a charter flight for our spanish groups on an old plane…..no idea of the type which had to fly in the middle of the low clouds…..It was before the main PIA and THAI crashes but I wasn´t particularly amused. I include the pic before taking off. The landing was even more foggy.

CUBANA llega hoy, o en ataud MANANA
it´s also called “La Milagrosa”….the miraculous one. My worst flight experience was on a AN24 landing in Santiago in a storm and the same with a IL-62 in Gander with several attempts. Many crashed were due to bad weather. It seems to me that landing in Cubana sometimes is a matter of “cojones”, not of instruments.
