Out of curiosity where did 0.00001 sqm come from?
Almaz gives a figure of 600 kilometers for the S-400’s maximum detection range using the 91N6 radar. But that is the far limit, and no RCS values are given. Also, if the 91N6 is mounted on a 30 meter mast assembly, it is only going to see targets above 65,000 feet at 600 km due to the radar horizon anyway.
I heard this this morning and wondered if this was just a ploy by the new government to placate the pakistani citizens but vowing to keep America away, while at the same time letting the US keep the status quo.
That’s certainly possible given the fact that they did mention that any engagement has to be in response to a clear and obvious border violation. But if it comes down to that point I don’t think a little bit of ambiguity will stop them from doing it anyway.

You know nothing and that is evident since you are not Russian.
So intelligence is directly related to ethnicity? +1 points for that one.
You’d all do well to start discussing things in a civil manner and refrain from the immature slagging matches you’re starting to get fond of again around here.
Yeah, now that this has fully degenerated into completely asinine claims of UFO intercepts, time for it to go away. I was going to let it continue until it hit the 20 page mark, but that’s just going way too far. Take that crap to ATS or one of the other tinfoil hat forums.
There is no evidence that any air to air weapon other than the K-37M and KS-172S-1 has a range equal to or greater than 300-400 kilometers.
There is no evidence of a 600 km or 900 km air to air weapon being in service or development anywhere. The 900 km concept is nothing more than someone having figured out the radar horizon for a fighter at 70,000 feet (a MiG-31) shooting at a target at 30,000 feet (an E-3) is right around 900 kilometers. Only a total lack of understanding of fighter radar power throughput, missile ballistic trajectory parameters and propulsion system design, and the complete battlespace environment would lead someone to think that this was actually being done. It. Won’t. Work.
Again, most of this thread is completely pointless until you figure out the scope limit of the MiG-31 anyway, if you even know what that term refers to.
why China wont buy? I would Syria and Irak to the list. as i dont think Irakis will share same weopons as Jordnnains or other persian gulf countries in long run. And Russia is going to add naval base in Syria. 1 or 2 squardons of PAK-FA will be based there at some point. This will give them opportunity to close black sea from Outside.
China is developing the XXJ as their native 5th generation fighter design. They have no need for Russia’s PAK-FA. They may import some of the systems, but there is no need for the entire aircraft. It’ll be interesting to see which jet is in service first.
There is no guarantee that any PAK-FA will ever end up in Syria. I doubt it will happen due to the fact that NATO or Israel would love to get their hands on one. And Russia will not be “closing the black sea from Outside”. That’d be interfering with Turkish territorial waters and a NATO member state. If you think Medvedev and Putin are stupid enough to actually directly harass NATO in such a manner when there are far more amusing ways to get what they want, then you need to rethink it.
The reason you haven’t IS BECAUSE you are like the typical American who DOES believe the “official” (LIE) story, THATS WHY!!:o:D
Wrong. I’ve done everything I said in that post, you are being biased and misguided. And you clearly cannot answer my original question either, and are now making excuses to mask your original mistake.
China won’t buy PAK-FA. India, Venezuela, Brazil, Iran, Malaysia, Vietnam, Algeria, Libya, Egypt…all could be possibilities at some point down the road.
None of this is relevant unless you know the scope limits of the E-3 and the MiG-31.
What ever your so called ecuse is, I have always noted any nation that defies the illegal/imorall polacies of the U.S. is is called Studid/Dummy, and you ain’t no different from all the others
Seriously? You’ve never seen me lash out against US support for Israel, state that iran should be allowed to develop its own nuclear arms if it wishes, or the asinine view of American politicians in viewing China as some serious threat that we need to deal with? What is wrong with you? Or did you just not have an answer to my question?
nice thread, as a mig-25rb pilot myself the f-16 chice i know was imposed on the IRAF, do you think having being up against jordanian and US f-16s we are impressed with it, we rather a su-27/mirage-2000 any day,,at the moment we have no choice
If the Iraqi government wants Russian or French warplanes, then they should stand up for that decision and order them. They’ve been sticking to their guns regarding the current agreements for setting dates regarding US withdrawl and whatnot, so why would they settle for an aircraft they don’t want? My assumption would be that they are being offered some sort of cut-rate deal, perhaps that’s why they’re taking Vipers.
