Great photos. The Tristar is still such an elegant airliner, and the last shot is beautiful with the moon in the distance. 🙂
I also can’t find anything on their website – perhaps they no longer offer this opportunity or they’ve hidden the info away?
Besides, if they did it wouldn’t involve any airside work (I’d be amazed if they went did given the amount of checks it’d take), only landside so probably check-in duties etc…
Good luck with getting a placement!
Hi guys,
I have a short question for you. Is it allowed to use a scanner in the UK?
I’m pretty sure this was discussed recently and according to the Law, using a scanner is illegal. However I’ve yet to hear or experience anyone being questioned or arrested for using one, so you’ll be fine but to be sure, hide it inside your coat etc.. 🙂
Excellent photos with a good variety.
Best of luck with that. Ours is no longer in operation.
Hopefully for Sunderland’s sake they won’t get Sam Allardyce – can’t stand the man and his tactics, unless you enjoy watching big thumping balls being smacked 50 yards down the pitch. 🙁 🙁

Great capture on the CO! I would have loved to have been in the flight deck for that takeoff.
I’m extremely concerned as to how so many of them managed to get into such a dangerous location. If a bunch of amateurs can get through a fence by cutting through it, then what sort of message does that send to the ‘professional’ terrorists? Seems Stansted is now an easy target.
Also this sort of stunt does absolutely nothing to help relations between spotters/photographers and the police authorities, who will now presmably suspect anyone who is hanging around the perimeter road. Such a shame.
Oh, and shooting them achieves nothing unless one of them starts running towards a plane and directly endangers live etc – agree with GA 100% on that one.
Good on Flybe for at least giving Kent International another go. There’s definately a good catchment area for MSE to exploit. You’re probably right about them using it as a tester route to see if expansion is viable.
Expecting an annoucement regarding Gatwick operations this week as it has been reported that slots have been asked for at a few European destinations – Dusseldorf was mentioned on PPRUNE, however that seems a wild outside possibility given the slot restraints there.
Not all positive though as PPRUNE rumours (sorry for these) say that the Norwich base is to close at the end of the current winter season.
Excellent photography there. Lovely lighting throughout, especially the Aer Lingus A320 which contrasts nicely with the sky.
Indeed it does look very gloomy but good work anyway. Reminds me of a rain-soaked day at the AVP in October 2006 – good times!
Excellent, crisp and vibrant photos. Pick of the bunch for me is the first one.
Good shots, Rob. It looks like the light may have been quite tricky at times, but none-the-less well done.
Nice A380 pics, Jon. Has been ages since I’ve been to Heathrow, so excuse my ignorance in not knowing where these were taken from. :p. Which runways were in use?
Would love a trip there soon but as soon as I finish uni for Christmas on Saturday I’m straight back working for the following weeks. Plus I’m broke as well. Not good. I’ll feel like such a complete beginner again when I finally do go spotting again!
Tom 🙂
