I should have updated this beforehand so please accept my apologies firstly. I’ve been keeping in touch with Tony a lot recently, and this return trip to Kemble has been in the planning for a while now. We’re holding a combined GA fly-in the same weekend as he returns, making it a memorable weekend…. Kemble has a special significance with Tony even before last year’s unfortunate incident, as he was onboard flightcrew on the Britannia’s last ever flight into Kemble – making this an extra special weekend for those who currently look after her at Kemble.
The entire weekend is open to the public – it’s not an airshow, but there’s sure to be lots going on including late openings of AV8 too. I know Tony would really like to meet anyone who wants to come along – and we as the Events Team are pulling out all the stops to make his trip worthwhile. He is bringing the Demo Team members with him, plus his show stand etc – so if anyone wants to meet him – June 15th/16th is the time to show your support for him personally 🙂

Well I know where you could get a complete freshly finished Spitfire replica which has a fitted cockpit interior?
To be honest, I hadn’t responded to the thread before as I thought Neil already had contacted you – so if you are interested – all our details are on the website including contact information to get a speedy response if needed!
‘The Iron Lady’ or ‘Mrs. T’ died a long time ago. You might say she ‘died’ in the run up to leaving office. The person who died yesterday was a frail 87 year old who had suffered a series of cerebro-vascular accidents and was in the grip of dementia.
I shall neither celebrate her life nor mourn her death. However, there are few personalities in this world who polarise public opinion as divisively or decisively as she has done. Just like everyone who has ever lived she has done good and bad things in those 87 years. One thing is certain. She was not the saviour of this Country as suggested by Cameron, nor was she the personification of evil.
But for all those who have openly wished her harm over the years or are professing a degree of glee and satisfaction over her death, think on this. I am confident that the person who would be most grateful for the passing of Margaret Thatcher yesterday would be the lady herself.

Thank you for posting that Kev – I couldn’t work out what to write myself but you put it so perfectly…
And by way of courtesy for Moggy’s benefit – I was 17 in 1979, serving in the RAF….

😮 Well you didn’t say you ran a page… so I didn’t know 😀
Has anyone got any photos of Hornet Moth G-ADMT from its (partly dismantled) days at the collection?
Thanks,
