As these aren’t airshow photos I’m posting this on the historic forum – hope that’s OK.
Yes of course, that’s ok. Wonderful pictures. Have to take a ride myself in the Catalina in the near future.
I have some pictures that I would like to share sooner or later on this forum. I have the same problem that I don’t know where to place them. Webmasters, isn’t it possible to:
– make an extra page for non airshow pictures?
– change the name of the Airshow Photos page into something that makes it clear that all sorts of aviation pictures are welcome?
Wonderful atmosphere in those pics. Maybe they are too beautiful. You can see that it aren’t old pics. The quality is just too high.
Thanks for sharing these pics of this milestone in aviation history. Finally some digital pictures of a Vulcan in the sky.
Sounds good to me. Bought mine half a year ago for € 1380. Was the best price in NL then.
These pictures are brilliant!!! It’s a different class. What I never knew, is that it is possible to make a dramatic picture of a formation of Chipmunks.
Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. I have never seen a B25 with a feathered prop.
I’m very happy with my 100-400 on my 20D. It’s a popular airshow lens, obviously for good reasons. At airshows 100 mm * 1.6 is often too long. For the shorter range I use an EFS 17-85 IS. So I have to change lens very often, with all the disadvantages. I’m going to buy an extra body next year, probably a 40D.
Great shots. I like the last one most.
The late sun certainly helped to give these pics a very nice atmosphere. I wonder how long it took for the Blackburn monoplane to reach the moon.
Great pictures of the inside of the Sunderland. I always try to imagine what kind of work the crew did at the workbench during flight.
We have to find a rich Dutchman who can buy it and bring it home. With only one (currently u/s) Spitfire in the country we are far to vulnerable.
Great pics!! 2 P47’s in formation is a rare sight.
Post up a pic @ f/22, MF infinity. If you have CS2 then auto level it.
Also I suggest seeing what the same spot looks like @ f/16. I don’t go smaller than f/16 in actual application, f/22 is used to benchmark the cleaning. If the spot does not show up at f/16 then you are good to go.
If the spot is at the edge of the frame then you might have to wrap some Pec Pads on a Q-tip (or buy a $40 edge wand) see if that helps.
Remember it will take you about 2-3 tries before it becomes routine.
Thanks for encouraging me. I have tried 3 times to clean up to now. I made a couple of test pics this afternoon at different apertures. At f11 you can just see the dot that is difficult of remove. It is about halfway from the centre to the top of the picture. In the shop where I bought the stuff I was told to sweep one time forward and one time backwards with the 1.6* swab. Do people sweep more often and in different directions?
I feel comfortable while sweeping the sensor. The only thing that irritates me, is that I am not 100% succesful.
Well, tried the trick today. Bought Eclipse and some Pec*pads. I have been around 90% succesful. There’s one dot that won’t leave. Any good ideas how to cope with that one?
Yes it is.
