Surely it all depends on how important it is to you to get the pictures.
Last year at the Moscow airshow there was a chap with a camera that whilst everything else was working perfectly it would not record the pictures. Imagine going all that way and having your one camera go down!

In my last post I complained about the BBMF never giving us any topside views of the Lancaster and then we get one whilst I am in France! Typical

Weather was better but it was still a bit on the chilly side at times. Main problem was that there was too much cloud.

Nice touch arranging for the pilot to look directly into the lens for the first Typhoon shot! It’s as of he’s your wingman.

Especially liked the ‘WWII B and W’ shot – rest well up usual standard.
They appear to be taken from where I normally stand. As I didn’t expect to get anything special because of the weather I went in with the masses at the end of the static and was plagued by tall people – I was too late to get anywhere near the flightline.

Great shots, wish mine were as crisp.
I thought the airfield attack bit was much better this year with the Hurricanes after the Buchon. When the ME 108 was used I used to think of it as a couple of prop forwards after a scrum-half.

Not a lot you can do if the weather is against you, I’m sure the pilots who were due to display were just as fed up. Safety has to come first.

I agree completely. I wasn’t comfortable watching the Catalina and Hurricane as they went out of view when turning.
Yes, the pilots were as cheesed off as we were. I only went because I bought a ticket in advance

Nice to have met you on Sunday. How did you keep still enough to get decent pictures in that wind. I’ve got similar pix on the Mustang and F16 (i.e. same pix but fuzzy!)
Looking forward to those of the Catalina

It has seemed to me on the last couple of occasions that I attended that the organisers seem to think of the public days as more of a nuisance. As you say there are masses of people but, according to the programme published the day before, some of the newer stuff would not be displayed.

I thought that the topside shot of ‘SH was exquisite

Love the ‘double exposure’ of the Spitfires. What are the chances of getting a shot like that?

    Admiration!

    Stunning pictures
Particularly liked the Red Arrows crossover and also the Hunter as I find it nearly impossible to get a decent shot of a black aeroplane

*******! That was the picture I was hoping to get the previous year but she went u/s and this year I was at a very disappointing and murky Moscow airshow.
What was the situation regarding access to the hill? There was talk of it being made a prohibited area after the Hurricane accident.

Thank you Consul – the site was most helpful but I wonder why it didn’t appear when I googled the F86
