    Seahawk XE390

I took this photo of this Seahawk passing through Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on 14 November 1984. It came from England on a container ship and went on a train, according to a newspaper clipping, to a Bernie Vajdl in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Does anyone know what happened to it.

Where and what is the registration of this Optica?

G-BMPF and I cannot tell you after all this time where it was placed on the aircraft.

A British magazine had a photo story on it at the time and the airshow guide may have something but mine are in storage.

    Carvair

Eastern Provincial Airways in Canada had three. CF-EPW shown here in Gander.
One had a hard landing in Labrador and two were sold back to English interests.

Morning is in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

If you Google – Nova Scotia Archives “An East Coast Port”
in the Jefferson collection there are some photos of CAM ships in Halifax Harbor.
In particular see – British catapult freighter Kafristan.

Another book on the CAM Ship operation is “THE CATAFIGHTERS and Merchant Aircraft Carriers” by Kenneth Poolman.

I was an air traffic controller in the tower at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 18 May 1975 when KB976 took off for Strathallen. Some of us were sorry to see her leave Canada in the first place.
