A great move at OW I think, The Shuttleworth Collection has many events through the season so to have these two biggies land at a single can only be an attraction, now for Sally B !!!
do not blame your Granmar Ian
Just seen the photo of her sitting at OW, brilliant good to see.
Ohh and a DC3 also in at OW
Oh right, cheers H im astounded and the room it takes up where do you park it !
Ditto Cobber
It was surely used for pattern parts during the conversion to short nose.
I miss the North Weald shows and with Stansted zone in spitting distance I doubt it could ever hold another full on Airshow.
West Malling another treat of the 80s, gone for ever, remember the two Biggin shows, Airfair in June and Battle of Britain airshow in September.
Farnborough Air Show, I went to many of them from the 1960s into the 70s, its completely changed and will never be what it was.
I really liked The Orsett Air Days run by Brendan Walsh, he tried really hard to go back to a real airshow as by then they were starting to fade a little, now the trees at the west end are cut down it still would make a great venue.
RIP Sir and thank you for saving all those aircraft.
Yes and no, today you can see fleets of warbirds just take a look at legends but, the displays have changed and more tail chases rather than individual routines, further away, higher and for good reason.
We will never see a return to how it was but I am glad to see the new aeroplanes flying you could only dream off back in 1980.
WOW, thank you Mathias , looking fantastic. Great update.
Puncture on landing
Airshows performed in a way you will never see again, very fond memories of airshows of the 90s thank you for sharing.
More Spit flights out of Biggin than you can shake a stick at:angel:
