    Last night just around 6 ish I think the returning aircraft from Shoreham passed over the house, a Spit and P40 first then the Blenheim with Spitfire PV202 I think in tight formation following the southern edge of Stansted’s TMZ towards Sudbury

    Operationally its harder to put on at DX due to the close proximity of the grass runway and military vehicles driving on it would not be good, as for Pyros, they can damage the surface and would need to be the south side of the main runway which can be used for visiting aircraft on display days.

    Forgot to mention this classic from last Saturday at North Weald.

    I was perusing the bootsale as the Strilemaster taxied out on to the main runway, a gentleman and his Mrs were passing and he said to his wife, “wow look, a Spitfire” !!!! WTF a jet confused with a piston engine, the best I have ever heard.

    Last evening, a lone Spit MkI I think in the rain heading around the edge of the Stansted zone towards Sudbury, followed a while later by two Spits in loose formation heading the same way in the clag all going to Duxford I presume, made my day.
