Anyone remember the Jolly Rogers? I can remember them marshaling the big events the squadron put on.
Cheers Martin,
I note that on April 8th it will be 15 years since Norman Lees was killed in the accident at Goodwood.
T6Flyer,
Do you mean Anthony bought it back to fly the world? anyone know how Anthony and Sam are?
If anyone watches ‘Salvage Hunter’ on Quest TV, both Drew and his Mrs Rebecca remind me of being the Anthony and Sam of the antiques world, same passion.
I wish I could sponsor one, anyone know if Duxford have an aeroplane called “A Complete W++Kx£” ?
T6flyer. fantastic memories you have shown us, cannot wait to see more if you have them.
I remember they team had to land on the grass one evening due to a crosswind on all runways, someone drove up and down the area W of 20 so the aircraft could see what part of the grass to land on.
Thank you, yes Tony Banfield, from Lancaster to harvards after his retirement. Another real gent
Brilliant, thanks Moggs, hopefully he can add more to this thread, seems to be a lack on Google.
The Harvard has caught so many out.
From 2min 59, the Harvards at Biggin 1988, 17? including the HFT boys
Hi Mike, I remember that name but never with the HFT, it all seems so long ago now.
Ah David of course, my mind seems to forget things these days. who infact lost his life in a harvard not to many miles from where I type.
I met him a couple of times, a really nice decent interesting man.
What happened to Anthony Hutton? sorry about thread drift, maybe I should start a new thread on the Harvard Formation Team?
I nearly got ran over while bending over weeding the grass verge out the front of my house by a WWII vehicle, it really put the Willys up me !

Oh a request, anyone seen a copy of Norman Lees and Gary numans radial pair on the net, cannot find it on youtube, some good flying shots in that for Harvard buffs
Would have been 1988 – the 40th Anniversary of the Harvard. Was featured on TV and I think still available on youtube.
Martin
Bloody hell Martin, just found this from 1991? I think the wrong date on this video. Also it would of been the 50th surely not the 40th anniversary?
I note G-CTKL in its old colours, the Norman Lees harvard part owned by ( the name has gone, he bought a Spit partner of the squadron with Anthony Hutton) he also owned the Charles Everett one as well.
